    I prepared my 2021 ******** Income taxes early this year (2022). My result was a refund. My taxes were very complicated due to part year residency in ********, so I sought help from Tennex Tax Solutions.***************************** from Tennex Tax Solutions prepared my ******** income taxes and sent me a document to electronically sign. The ******** **** form my ******** signed indicated a $13 refund. We did not provide payment or a payment method because we expected a refund.Instead of receiving that $13 refund, we received a Bill for Taxes Due on 7/16/22 in the amount of $452.13 which included $44.13 in ****************** from the *****************. I immediately contacted our tax preparer. After a few days, ******** phoned me and said that the issue had been resolved and that the ******** income taxes we signed was correct and the ******************* of ******** would soon be sending us our $13 refund as indicated on her submission.Instead of receiving that $13 refund, we received a Final Bill for Taxes Due on 10/1/22 in the amount of $455.23 which included $47.23 in ******************. Again, I immediately contacted ********. After initially receiving a reply from ********, I have yet to hear from ******** or her company for over two weeks. I have attempted follow-up contact but still no response from Tennex Tax Solutions.My agreement with Tennex indicates that "If a notice is received in regards to the filed return, Tennex Tax Solutions will advise client as to the actions that need to be taken, if any". I received a notice but no advise from Tennex.So, I contacted the ***************** (******************* of ********) myself. They said that they received a ******** filing from Tennex which indicated I owed over $400 in MI income taxes which is why they billed me for the balance due. Without the assistance of Tennex and much of my own time, I have submitted an amended ******** income tax return which was the return Tennex represented as the one Tennex filled.

    I am rejecting this response because: while the action offered would have been a step in the right direction, the offer is not timely & does not resolve the issue. Because of the unresponsiveness of the business (as necessary as it may have been), I had to discover & submit a resolution to the issue myself. Also, the ***************** told me that the reason they thought I owed money was because of the tax returns submitted by the business.  This is inconsistent with what I was told by the business in July (see attached voicemail).

    We have been in contact with **************** via email in regards to this issue and and working with him in order to address the issue raised by ******** and the additional assessment notice issued to the taxpayer. **************** is in possession of the response letter to the ***************** from our office.

    After my last communication with the BBB regarding this issue and my negative (but truthful) review on ******* the vendor contacted me.  After a few emails, we determined I had not received a refund nor the service the vendor intended to provide.  We agreed that I would not need a refund, if the vendor provided service.  The vendor began an investigation as to the current situation and initiated necessary actions to resolve the issues with the ***************** regarding the state's error of reviewing my state taxes that were prepared by the vendor.  While the tax issue with the ***************** has NOT been resolved, I am receiving the services I would expect from the vendor. So, considering my original complaint of the vendor's poor service, the BBB can consider this issue resolved between the vendor and myself.
