Hello, thank you for your consideration. In February 2022, I agreed in email to allow Parlade Schaefer and Schortz CPA PA ***** to file my personal tax return (*******************************), as well as 3 LLC business returns ********************** LLC, Realty Shared Solutions LLC, and ***************** Solutions LLC) and 1 **Corp business tax return (Umbrella PM **** for tax year 2021. I never signed a fee agreement and the email quoted a total fee of $4,200. The firm never filed my personal tax return and were late on the **corp and 2 LLC (Encompass and Realty Shared) returns. It is now July 25, 2023, and the *** has since given us notice that our late fees have been sent to collections so we completed payment as attached. The firm has refused to pay these fees or any resolution. Their negligence to their agreement has left me with $6671.32 in *** penalties. The firm had sent me invoices for these late returns to which I stated I would not complete until they paid for the late fees. The firm instead sent me to collections and I made payment to collections in dispute. They also had increased my fees without notice. I.E., for Encompass, the quote was $1200, and I was invoiced for $2025. hen I had notified the firm of the late fees, they claimed this would be resolved. In summary, I was quoted for a total fee of $4,200. Prior to their completion, they charged me $6,255. I was sent to collections for $1725.00 for Realty Shared (Quoted at $950), $2025.00 for Encompass (Quoted at $1200) and completed the payment under dispute. Prior, I paid the remaining $2505.00 of the invoice without dispute. My business partner, *****************************, completed payment of $2272.34 to the *** for late fees associated with Encompass and $2718.98 for late fees associated with Realty Shared. Payment for the fine of Umbrella PM *** late fees ($1680.00) has not been made as of yet. This means my invoice was overcharged by $2055.00 and I was charged $6671.32 in *** Penalties, in total costing me $8726.36.

I discussed a rate with this CPA firm dated 2/12/2022 of $4,200 to file my business tax returns and personal tax returns. The company never filed my personal tax returns, billed me for many "book keeping hours" that were never approved by me, filed two businesses returns late to which I was fined by the *** in excess of $3800, and the company demanded I complete a $6255 invoice despite no completed resolution of business return fines. When I said I would not be completing the invoice due to unapproved billing and the lack of completed services, they sent me to collections, which I completed payment to prevent damage to my personal credit. The corresponding firm also fabricated a number of emails to rationalize their "Book keeping hours". Needless to say, the firm has made zero attempt to resolve their issues other than claiming "the *** is backed up" so the appeal of the fine is delayed. They do not update me at all on the status of such appeals at all.

The claims are completely false.  We did quote a fee for the tax service but the information that the client provided us was very inaccurate.  In order to file the returns we had to redo the bookkeeping which the client knew.  He then refused to pay for anything including the tax work.  This is why we had to result to turning him over to collections.
