I reached out to TJ the contractor who is purportedly employed by Tampa Realty Investments LLC to perform work in my house in December of 2023 which involved a bathroom door and drywall install and book shelf removal within the dining room. On January 25, 2024, I paid a deposit of $2,350 for the 50% down payment on this work (I ordered all the materials which is contemplated in the invoice). The work was temporarily postponed by me for two months due to unexpected work travel commitments. When I reached back out in late April, ** did not respond to me. I then tried to reach back out to ** again in the middle of June and received no response again. Finally, I reached out to *************************** directly on June 19th who is the individual that provided the invoice and received no response. I sent another e-mail to ***** earlier this morning asserting that if I do not receive a response by EOD Thursday, his continued silence would indicate that he is keeping my money and not performing and said money is thereby stolen which constitutes a breach of contract. There is a high likelihood that I will have to take this matter small claims court if a refund is not issued.I highly encourage everyone to stay away from this group. They seem like stand up guys when you meet them but they will take your money and not perform.

COMPANY WAS TO INSTALL DRYWALL, THE INSTALLATION AND TAPING OF SEAMS IS AWFUL, WE CAN'T EVEN REPAIR IT. THEY REFUSE TO CALL US BACK TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND REPAIR THIS AWFUL WORK. THEY WERE FRIENDLY ENOUGH TO US BEFORE STEALING OUR MONEY FROM US

Thanks for reaching out to us. We completed the job as promised. The job was to hang the drywall. The customer said they would handle the painting aspect. When the job was with in one day of completion the customer sent me us a text message about how unhappy he was about the length of time it was taking to complete the job. This text message caught me off guard because up until then there was no mention of dissatisfaction. We collected 1/2 of the job total up front as a deposit and the other half is due upon completion. In the customers text message to me it stated that it was taking to long and that they were going to get a whole other crew in there to finish the job. That was very upsetting to me. I replied back to the customer and stated that there was 1 days work remaining and that if they would like they could get another crew that would be fine and I would discount the remaining balance from ******* to *******. I was ignored for about 3 days until finally I got a text message from them asking when we would be back out to finish the job. So we got back out there and finished the job. I then sent them a message to collect the remaining balance due which was back to the original price of ******* because they did not get another crew out to finish the job, we finished the job. They were not happy about this and at that point they did not want to pay anything. so some days passed and I received no payment from them. I was emotionally drained from this customer and just wanted to get this situation behind me. so i sent them a final text message and it reads as follows.( Good Morning ***, please zelle me the remaining balance to me. If your intention is not to i will make it easy for you and not bother you again regarding this matter. I have held up my end and completed the job. I do however need to put this behind me so i can stay positive in my life and keep moving forward. I hope everything works out for you in the future and wish you best of luck in all of your endeavors). The next day I got a response as to what zelle account to send  the remaining balance to. They did not send the full balance that was due (*******) instead they sent the discounted balance that we had discussed if they had gotten another crew out to finish the work. At the end of the day i was happy as i had assumed at this point i was not going to receive anything and simply replied back to them thank you. To sum things up they had the upper hand and there was no way we could have taken there money from them. This is why it is our policy to only take half up front. That ensures that the only way we can collect the other half would be at a point that both us and the customer are in agreement that the job has been completed. I will attach the text messages that I referred to in this message. I hope this helps clear things up, Have a great day!

    Complaint: 20615783

I am rejecting this response because:

TJ was the only employee assigned by ***************************, the owner of Tampa Realty Investment ***** to install ceiling drywall in my garage. ***** originally stated in our conversation that it would take no more than three weeks to complete this job. This was a hardship, because, it actually became approximately a three-month project. My wife and I provided the down payment through ***** and ordered the supplies for the job. TJ was not punctual. He never showed up on time or sometimes he did not show up at all. This was very disruptive, and frankly, costly to our family. The first day of the install, he did not show up with any equipment, stating that he could not find the company's drywall lift. He said it was left behind at a job. ***** came to the jobsite to help TJ once.  Excuses for not showing up ranged from a bear in TJ's cabin one weekend, the following weekend, ***** needed him, because, he had broken water pipes in the walls of his house. Sometimes, ** would show up for an hour than leave for the day. ** consistently, said that he would bring a crew the next time to finish the job. That never happened. Unfortunately, once again, I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
As this long ordeal continued, my equipment, broom, shop vac, tools were requested to do the job. At times, I was even needed to assist in the work, hoping this would help with timely completion of the installation.
I had to store items from my garage on my front porch for the duration, to my embarrassment, as you can imagine. One of my vehicles had to be put into storage also.
The "drywall job", became a never-ending nightmare. The company left my house in disarray. They dismantled the garage unit and left it in the rain. The lights were all taken down and nothing was ever replaced. I had to prep the whole area, I consistently covered everything. They were sloppy and disrespectful.
As the images attached demonstrate, the supposedly completed install is disgraceful. Each seam between the drywall has individual MAJOR issues.
Some drywall is loosely held in by screws and other sections of drywall are not even taped. The company said that they were close to completion and needed one more hour.  That turned into TJ's longest day on the jobsite, because, it was nowhere near completion. The job was a complete disaster. TJ dented my washing machine lid by walking on it to caulk insulation into my vent... What?
I attempted to reach out to *****, as he promised he would be contacting me about replacing my washer lid. As I continued to reach out, leaving voicemails and text messages (see attached). . There was no response, other than begging for the final payment, through Zelle. By this time my wife was in tears, as this was all just to overwhelming.  She paid the balance through Zelle. Hoping, that TRI would take responsibility for what they did. Other contractors have stated, they can't believe we were charged for this debacle. ** told me that he works on million-dollar homes. My 620 ft. of drywall is too hard to handle? Please view the attached photos and understand why this company should no longer be accredited by the BBB.
    Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    *******************
