Scam. ******. Made my cat suffer for three hours and I had to pay them $1400. I had to take to another vet to get a correct diagnosis for my emergency! They need to be shut down and prosecuted. They are the most evil company Ive interacted with. They care nothing about animals. Only money.Review from Cinful H

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM FEST! If I could rate this hole a ZERO I would have. This place should be shut down, sued and banned from the US. They care nothing about your pet, and more of how much money is in your wallet. To hell with them, they thought I was going to pay them $300-$800 for my dogs eye exam...I replied are you crazy? I don't even spend that much on my own eye exams and with glasses to boot. I told them to shove my appointment between their two back pockets. I found a much better vet in Elkton that's been around for 35 years, not a bunch of quacks. I wouldn't take road kill to Blue Pearl.Review from Aydin A

At Rockville BluePearl Dr. R*******’s actions have shown a blatant disregard for ethical standards and animal welfare. His pressure to push unnecessary surgeries for financial gain, particularly his recommendation to amputate my dog’s leg when it was not needed, is absolutely inexcusable. My dog underwent surgery on September 13th at BluePearl in Augusta, GA, for soft tissue sarcoma. After relocating, the Augusta surgeon referred me to Rockville BluePearl solely for a bandage change. At Rockville BluePearl, Raphael R******* attempted to convince me that my dog’s leg needed to be amputated. This was less than two weeks post-surgery after we were explicitly told by the original surgeon that the procedure was successful and no further action was required except for bandage changes. Raphael R******* pushed hard during our session, creating a sense of urgency and claiming amputation was “more convenient.” The session was relentless pushing, guilt-tripping, and attempting to make me feel bad for not immediately agreeing. I sought opinions from three more doctors, including the Hope Veterinary in Vienna, VA, and two Banfield veterinarians. Every single one of them confirmed that the amputation advice was complete nonsense. My dog simply needed her bandages changed every week. While most veterinarians and staff are ethical and compassionate, there are bad actors—and at Rockville BluePearl, Butcher R******* is one of them. It breaks my heart to think that someone who swore an oath to protect animal health and welfare would stoop so low as to harm an innocent dog for profit. Today, my dog is walking, running, and enjoying life with all four legs, just as her original surgeon assured me she would. If I had trusted Raphael R*******'s shameless sales pitch and pressure to amputate, she would now be unnecessarily living with only three legs. I will never forgive this blatant disregard for ethics and compassion.

This business in Florida peer pressured me to euthanize my young pet because they were about to close for the day and a decision had to be made. The brought in techs vets managers etc every 5 minutes instead of giving me privacy to make a decision. The condition my pet had was reversible/preventable and I suffer from PTSD from what this business did. If I would have brought my pet for a second opinion elsewhere for severe constipation then my pet would have been alive today. They refused to run any diagnostics, treatments, fluids, etc and instead they claimed they did a physical assessment in the back of the facility. They forced me to put my pet down due to severe constipation or pay $4k to remove the poop stuck inside of him. I wish I would have advocated better, they didn’t even offer to give the pet something for his blood sugar or any soap suds enema to help deobstipate him. I wish I would have sued them that year. He just needed his bowels cleared and to be put on a constipation protocol, and I failed my pet. This placed should be shutdown due to gross medical negligence.

********** seems to operate on a very shady business practice way and should definitely be investigated by the Attorney General in each and every state that they have a facility. There are too many complaints of a similar circumstance that warrants looking into by State and Federal authorities. My personal experience is the loss of my 14 yr old dog who was previous diagnosed with Pneumonia and was told the first day that she would be taken care, that same afternoon I was phones that she was breathing on her own and things looked good the following evening at 4AM she was pronounced dead and my bill was 10k. for less than 2 days care. My estimation given the circumstance the Vet knew or should have known that the poor dog was in it`s last hour and I should have been told as such, but Blue Pearl is nothing more than Money Mill for grieving Pet Parents; needless to say all family members were crushed. If you should have the misfortune of choosing Blue Pearl, think twice, lies ,poor treatment and super expensive; a double whammy !Review from Robin M

My 6 month old puppy was stumbling and her front legs kept going under like a goat. Her regular vet said that it was either orthopedic or neurological and they referred us to Blue Pearl in ********. We went to the office which is two hours from where I live and they kept our dog for hours. The first visit they did full body x-rays. She needed to be put to sleep for the x-rays. On another visit, they did a **********. Once again, she needed to be put to sleep for this. On another visit, they did an ***. Please note this was the third time she was put under anesthesia in about a Please note this was the third time she was put under anesthesia in about a two month stretch. All of these tests were thousands and thousands of dollars. The *** alone was about $6000. When all was sudden done, they told us that they didnt know what was wrong with her. I didnt know what to do so I started her on physical therapy to help her out. It seems to be helping a little but not much. ($245 per visit but not thru **** Couple of months later she was out in our yard and she came into the house limping in a different way. I took her back to our regular vet and it was a different vet on duty Who read through her file and couldnt believe everything that she had gone through with no results. They gave the dog steroids. In 24 hours she was a new dog all for $20 of pills. Those people at ** shouldve tried steroids or they shouldve done something but they didnt. They saw us and we pulled up in a nice car and we had an expensive pure breed dog and they took us for a lot of money.Review from Betty Lou M

I took my almost 16 year old Lilly there, on the advice of my Veterinarian. She was not breathing well. After they charged me up front 4600 dollars (my vet already ran blood and x-rays) they stuck her in an oxygen kennel, I called them every three hours for updates. They continued to tell me she was improving. I live over an hour from their facility in Tampa, so I took their word she was getting better. At 12:00 noon, the following day, I received an email telling me I owed another 3000. I paid that as well. I received great reports all day and said I’d be in the following day to bring her chicken as she doesn’t like dog food. I spoke with the doctor that morning and she again said that Lilly was doing great. When I arrived to visit, I was then told she had passed out when they took her off the oxygen. After seeing my pup, I could tell she was not doing better. I drove back home and immediately called them, they then told me she was bleeding internally. Which with all the tests that they ran, they didn’t know. I returned and stayed with her as they put her to sleep. Getting hit with an additional 1100 bill. She was there for a total of 48 hours and 8800 dollars later had to be put to sleep. They are a money grab, and I’m going to report them to ****, they should be arrested for the scammers that they are.Review from David S

Blue Pearl is a SCAM. While they saved our cats life, we were first presented with the bill for $6372. They required payment before they would even treat him for his emergency urinary blockage. It of course was on a Sunday so the care would be extra expensive. Before treating him we were presented a bill showing a list of POSSIBLE procedures and treatments. We have no idea whether all of those itemized procedures were carried out. We were required to pay upfront or the vet would have to euthanize. We couldn't afford to do it, but we put it on a card because we couldn't imagine the idea of euthanizing our baby. We still can't afford the extra costs as both of us are senior citizens. When I attempted to contact Blue Pearl, as directed by a website to help those in financial need, all I received was run around from Blue Pearl website "team members." The real thorn in this situation is that one of their esteemed vets misdiagnosed our cats problem of paralysis in his hind legs citing arthritic neuropathy. True...however she missed the simple underlying cause. The prescribed medicines made him even sicker and oral administrations were so unpalatable and traumatic that he lost almost all trust in us. His paralysis worsened. He was unable to use the litterbox most of the time. Unable to properly clean his back quarters. We resorted to physically bathing him so he could be "clean." Things still got worse. We took him back to our regularly used vet since his condition declined and hoped for either a miracle or faced having to euthanize him. One of their twenty something year old vets analyzed his urine and discovered he had a rare fungal infection causing the paralysis in his rear legs. A several month prescription should give us that miracle. Within a week we saw dramatic improvements. While he isn't 100% back to normal, he is able to walk without dragging his hind legs; climb stairs and even jump very limited heights. All this is great but we're struggling financially.
