Have been a member of Gold Coast Federal Credit Union for 37 years and plan to remain with them. I have especially appreciated their Direct Deposit and online Bill *** offerings. Currently, I could not be more grateful for their assistance on my behalf in dealing with an unscrupulous online merchant who scammed me out of nearly $700 when I paid for furniture using an electronic check. When I contacted GCFCU to share my plight, Member *************************** Representative, ******, listened intently and then began taking immediate action. She gathered pertinent information from me and then emailed documents to gain my consent and electronic signature so that GCFCUs team could proceed with pursuing my claim. I feel confident that I am being well represented and that there will be a positive resolution to my unfortunate set of circumstances.

Front desk person would not let me talk to anyone about my problem. She had me show her on my phone that I could not use their app five times before she would even let me sign in. I had to drive 20 miles to get there one way and not be able to talk to anyone. I left and tried to call and was on hold for over 30 minutes before anyone answered. I asked to talk to a manager and was not allowed to. I was told that they would send my information over to a manager and she would call me back. Still no call back. The worst customer service of any bank I have ever seen. The worst app that I have ever used.

They do not take calls or call or email back. It is impossible to communicate with them. You call and stay on hold for 40+ minutes, no one picks up. You leave a call back number and they call back with a recording saying, "thanks for using the voicemail goodbye." This happened to me for several days now this week. What a way to treat your customers. I have been with them for almost 28 years. They used to be good back then. The past several years they are impossible to use. Their online banking website is down a lot and you cannot log on to see or do anything with your account. It is hard to call or communicate with them. They have very bad leadership at this institution, it used to be good, not anymore. I have tried to close my bank account with them all week with them, I only have $20+ left with them, I want my bank account closed and for them to mail me my check of the remaining money, I have emailed them three times in the system email and one time to their banker, *********************, and did as he requested, my ID and request to close to have them send my final check amount. Still today, no one ever called or followed up on anything, it has been several days now, I am left in limbo. This bank is horrible, I do not know how they expect to keep clients treating us so poorly. I now understand after reading all the bad reviews about them here and other places, they have the worst reviews. They are not taking care of their customers here, it is a sin. I am not sure who would ever want to use or stay with them. I gave them almost 28 years of my life, and this is how they treat their customers. I hope I can get this account closed and have them behind me. What a horrible bank. The worst I have ever experienced in my many years of life. They have the worst leadership here, the worst customer service, and no ethics as a bank. I cannot recommend them to anyone to use. The sad thing is they are a credit union for teachers and educators and we have to tolerate such mediocrity.

            07/11/2023

Our Assistant Branch Manager contacted **************** and apologized for someone not getting back to him in a timely manner. After a small conversation, **************** still requested his account to be closed. We verified ******************** address, closed the accounts and forwarded the balances of the accounts with a check.

I went to the credit union yesterday to get 500 dollars since I knew I had to keep that amount in there to avoid fees and go at least once a year to avoid it being dormant . To my surprise I only had 237 dollars .They claimed the Last time I used the account was January 2022 and I took out 200 dollars..I actually added 200 to keep the account active. They claim that their system won't allow them to see activity after Jan 2022. I am a retired teacher on a fixed income and they lied about emailing me or sending something in the mail to inform me of the fees I was being charged monthly..They just literally took over 300 dollars of my money and said there's nothing they can do. I closed the account after being a member there since 1983..They are so wrong for this..Over 300 in fees just taken. I went to Northlake and Military and to the main branch on Congress and got the same answer. They also said I took out 200 in January 2022 and I didn't do that. I deposited 200 to make sure it was at 500 but of course they are saying you can't claim a fraud after 3 months of inactivity..I am so hurt and disappointed in Gold Coast..After all of these years being loyal to them this is the thanks I got. I thought banks and credit unions were there to help you save money not to TAKE your money. I am also a senior citizen and a retired educator. Gold Coast you should be ashamed.
