On 11/11/22 i had my vehicle serviced at great bear for $872.97 for a starter replacement after having it towed in a few days prior for a no start / no crank situation, i was informed of some modifications made to the starter mounting area made by a previous shop/owner, they ensured it wouldn't be a problem and they replaced the bolts and starter, but their technician failed to reattach a bracket needed to prevent catastrophic engine damage, from the starter flexing away from the housing, they told me they couldn't find a bracket that fit, but the bracket was infact there the whole time. The result of them not putting the bracket in place means my starter has shifted, and made my vehicle inoperable as there are now no longer any teeth on the flexplate for the starter to engage on, they now refuse to fix it as they admit they have nobody there that works on diesels and they should have never taken the job or my money in the first place, the result has left me stranded, with no vehicle and unable to go anywhere. I want my money back, because they did more harm than good to my truck

Prior to completing work on the vehicle, we notified the customer of modifications that he had made which could impact our ability to properly perform the requested repairs. The customer authorized us to complete the repairs, which we did, and the vehicle left in working order.
All of our work is backed by a 2 year / ****** mile warranty. We have asked the customer to bring the vehicle back for inspection so we can solve any outstanding issue, which has not occurred. If the customer will contact our shop, we will refund them for the repair, even though we completed them correctly.
