We have had a "new" elevator installed in our 55+ community. It took 8 weeks for this Company to finish the installation and this was the beginning of this past May. There were residents who were stranded in their apartments for 8 weeks! It is now two months later and the elevator has broken down 7 times! (sometimes twice in 1 day!) There are handicapped people in our building and have been stranded when they have gone down the elevator in the morning and on return from their appointments or errands, the elevator is broken again! The rescue truck has to be called! This is frustrating, annoying and unacceptable! What can we do? Our management company is NOT communicating and this Company is not taking care of our issue! This Company Should NOT be used! It is NOT recommended!

TK is more expensive compared to other companies doing the same work and will insist on making you pay for services that are neither wanted nor needed. (This has been my experience with the ********* branch. )

What a corrupt business model. They purportedly maintain your elevators, but in reality, all they do is respond to service calls. No preventative maintenance at all. It's like hiring someone to maintain your car -- but instead of faithfully doing oil changes, they just come out to repair things after the "check engine" light comes on. If you need a "new engine" -- too bad, so sad for you. One of their selling tactics is to cite how many repair mechanics they have. ..If you had someone really doing preventive maintenance, there wouldn't be such a need for fixit crews.Their contracts are a rigged game. They agree to maintain your equipment, except for certain exclusions, including exclusions for water damage, for example. In my case, they advised we needed new doors, and wanted to charge $120K for doors. So wrong in multiple ways,. First, the doors should have been maintained as part of the contractual obligation. But nooo, tk said the reason the doors needed replacement was owing to corrosion caused by rust. Never did tk do any rust mitigation as part of maintenance. They cited the "water damage" exclusion as a reason not to assume responsibility for the doors, because humidity (in their way of thinking) equates to water damage. We hired a good independent consultant to negotiate on our behalf -- succeeded in getting the price down by about half. About a week after the new doors were installed, a paper carrier got stuck in an elevator, the fire department used jaws of life to break into the doors and release the trapped person. So, they decline to maintain equipment, find an excuse that YOU, the customer, must pay for new equipment despite their obligations, send a **** to do the installation, the installation causes more problems, you get to pay extra for night and weekend emergency service. Pretty sweet business model for them.
