I wish I could give negative star ratings. I had an Indexed Life policy that was traded from Athene to Accordia and during the 'transition' I couldn't get a statement for almost a year and when I did, it was wrong. I was told to wait a little longer that it would be resolved. I finally got a statement but could never get a full accounting of what I had paid into the life insurance. I wish I had bailed after the 'transition'. In retrospect I should have recognized the trademarks of a ponzi scheme. 1) The company holding my life insurance was traded/bought out 3 times and each time 2)I had to make multiple inquires just to get a statement and when I did get a statement it was wrong or only provided a couple of months information. But they were quick to bill me for my payments. I finally got fed up with paying into the sham of a company and surrendered the policy only then did I get my full statement and realized that I had taken a huge loss on my 'investment', which explains why I never got full statements or disclosure. DO NOT TRUST ACCORDIA LIFE AND ANNUITY IT IS A TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!

This company is a scam my mother had a policy since 2006 and has been paying a certain about for 20years. We just received a notice stating that her policy is going to be cancelled if she does not pay amount listed. This amount has increase ***** with no notices. The reason they gave me for the increase was not because of health it was because they never charge me the increase 10years and now they need to charge us. We never got notices and if we would of know this 10years ago we would of got her another policy. Now it ten years and it going to be impossible to obtain now at her again. They took my mother money for 20 years and now just drop her policy. No one can find the agent in the system and I was told by the nasty rep there is nothing to be done. At this point I don't what to do. This is the worst company you will never get your money is you pass away. I didnt want to give it a star that the only way to submit.

I spoke with Patricia in the claims department this morning and I was informed my Surrender Request was not processed because they need a notarized signature, so I am waiting for new forms. This afternoon, I spoke with my brother who also submitted a Surrender Request (after mine) and his check is in the mail (he confirmed this with I am assuming a different claims agent this past Monday) without a notarized signature. These policies were purchased by our grandfather when we were young and we both became the primary policyholders when our grandfather passed years ago. I would love for someone to explain this process to me. Also, why does one policy require a notarized signature whereas the other does not?
