Prior to purchasing our house on *******************. back in July, we entered into an agreement with 5 Points Electrical to complete an electrical update to our house the would require an electrical permit. The ** of the company explained that the main power cable in our house needed to be replaced as it was the old style cloth-wrapped wire, and an updated wire was all that was necessary to bring the house up to code. The quoted price for the work was $5.8K When the city inspector came to the site, he failed the work, saying that the work was not up to code, precisely the job we hired 5 Points to do. Upon failing the inspection the ** informed me that more work would need to be done, and it might cost me an additional $12K to complete the work. I said that this was unacceptable, as the previous agreement was that they were going to bring this issue up to code for the agreed upon amount. I said it was not my responsibility to incur the cost of their mistake. At this point the ** threatened me with a lien, and became very aggressive at my own house. When I called the company to ask to speak to the head of the company about this, I was denied. The ** then left an apologetic voicemail saying the inspector was going to require them to finish the work, and that no one else from the company would be in contact, however he then emailed me accusing me of acting in bad faith. More than a month went by from the initial work before they attempted to reschedule me, and then continued to reschedule me on 3 different occasions. Yesterday October 17th they finally came out presumably to finish the work correctly, only to once again complete it incorrectly. I have been trying to reach the company both by phone, and no one is getting back to me. At this point I really would like to be done working with this company given the poor communication, threats, and lack of punctuality. I need them to finish the job correctly at the price initially promised.
