My family and I built a home with ******* ***** Homes in March of 2021. It was our first time building a new home and we were excited about the new process. We were given many options and met many contractors along the way. Wesley T**** with Cornerstone Cabinets was the cabinetry contractor offered through *******. We trusted ******* to build our home, so we thought we had a quality contractor that would do the work correctly. The island in the kitchen comes standard with a trash bin cabinet, but we wanted to make use of this space for a beverage fridge. Wesley said this would be easy to do, and included it with our design for our cabinetry for the new house build. We wanted a custom frame to fit over a custom beverage fridge that included a bulky handle on the cabinet. However, he wanted to do his own measurements because he did not trust the manufacture measurements. When he came to install the fridge door it was a panel that covered the whole unit including the glass, and he made the comment "it would have looked a lot better if the glass was showing." You would think he would ask the customer this while taking his custom measurements to design a custom frame for a ******* fridge. I think he actually forgot what he was doing because the first frame was not measured correctly, and he didnt provide a bulky handle. He made it look like a cabinet door to cover a trash can bin. I still paid him for his work even though its not what I wanted because he said it was a communication error on my part. I told him that it was my understanding that the glass would be exposed. He said that I needed to ask for a frame and not a panel.. I don't know anything about cabinetry and trusted him to make a custom look. He said he would make it right and build a frame for the fridge. He again took his measurements and said he'd have it in a month or two. The second attempt, he came back two months later to install the "frame." Once the install was complete it still was not measured correctly, and you could see the metal faceplate on the fridge still. He said he could add some backing to the area, but the adhesive would eventually fall off and have to be re-stuck to the fridge.. who wants to hear that on a custom install? I wasn't happy with this and wanted him to just use the measurements the manufacture provided. I paid him again during this visit, which I regret doing now. He said he was going to make it right and just use the measurements that I originally provided from *******, and he wouldn't charge me again. He comes up with a different excuse every week saying he'll have the new frame ready, and he has still yet to deliver. He has taken money for a job that's not complete, and will not refund or complete the job.
