On 8.27.23, after just entering the park, my wife noticed a grey ****** Tacoma following dangerously close to us. After a few moments, and having gone through a round-about(s), the truck almost hit us while erratically accelerating illegally into the opposing flow of traffic and flicking my entire family off (to include my 8-year-old). I followed this individual and found it to be a Lake Lanier Islands lifeguard (in uniform) that was likely running late to work (Plate TEI5246 Hall County - documented via my dash camera as well as a picture taken). We entered the park to be informed that the lockers didn't work but our valuables (phones, credit cards, etc.) would be 'fine' because "nobody will mess with your stuff". Being uncomfortable with leaving our valuable unattended we asked if Apple Pay could be utilized - we were told it could be used in the park. We entered to learn that Apple Pay could NOT be utilized and the only way to pay for anything in the park was to let a random park employee write down my credit card information on an unsecured piece of paper. I called my credit card company and without hesitation I was informed that allowing someone to write down your credit card information was "the riskiest, and most insecure methods" and "not in line with PCI compliance standards" (in other words, every major creditor in the US says this is enormously risky behavior and advises their customers not to allow such action). So, now I've got my two young children in the water park without a safe means to purchase water or food; and the worst part about it is that there is/was NO previous communication from Lake Lanier about this circumstance which I was told had been status quo for 'about a week and a half'. The outcome of the circumstance Lake Lanier Islands put my family in on a 97-degree day was that, due to the heat and lack of food/water (which we were told we couldn't bring in either) we had to leave the water park about as quickly as we got there.

In February 2023 I purchased 4 season passes for Lanier Islands Margaritaville Water Park for myself and for 3 of my 4 grandchildren (the youngest is 2 yrs old) who live in ** and visit occasionally. I am 55 years old and my primary interest is use of the beach/lake privilege. When I began my purchase.....lake/beach access was still available. In May.....it was announced that Lanier Islands would no longer allow access to the lake. My full intent at tie of purchase as the primary user was that I would use my pass very frequently as I work 15 minutes from the resort. I have no interest in the crowded water park portion. At the time of announcement I had made 3 of 5 payments and still allowed the 4th payment although I have been attempting to get a refund on my purchase. I have made several attempts via phone and email requesting a refund and the resort refuses. IF there were still lake access (as existed at the time of my purchase) I would happily use my passes. Lanier Islands changed the terms of agreement under which I made my purchase. I would just like a refund of the amount paid towards the purchase of passes....$445.08
