I hired *********************** (KS) of MidSouth Home Solutions to repaint the exterior of my home. The work was scheduled for 27 Jun 22. As the work continued through the week, I was satisfied with progress and performance with exception to some small issues that were attended to as I identified them to KS. On the afternoon of 30 Jun 22, KS requested payment so that he could pay his employees, to which I promptly complied even though the work had not been completed and the punchlist items continued to grow. Numerous items were identified that include but not limited to incomplete painting on window frames, paint overspray on windows, overspray on screens, paint pulling off deck surfaces, missed areas on doors, walls and deck rails, nails sticking out of walls, missing 90-degree brackets, remaining holes unpatched in siding and paint overspray on concrete walkways and patio. ** stated that his partner would return on 1 Jul 22 to complete any remaining tasks and stated that the overspray was an easy fix as it would wash off with water. His partner did not show up, but one of his workers showed up mid-morning without adequate ***************** to complete the remaining punchlist items, and only intended to wash windows. He asked for his pay and I told him that KS would pay him. He did not understand due to language barriers and became angry, It began to rain and the worker left shortly after noon. I spoke to KS about this and he said he would be back on 2 Jul 22 to complete the work. He arrived as planned and was going to do touchup painting and all remaining paint had been taken by other workers. I was power washing screens to remove overspray, but it wouldn't come off as KS had previously stated. He used a power washer to on the patio to remove overspray but it wasn't completely effective. He said he would go get paint and return and that was the last I saw of him. He rescheduled for 17 Aug 22 and didn't show up or communicate with me and failed to respond to text messages.

    Business response

    08/22/2023

    Hello and good day,

This was a customer that we simply could not make happy. Our sub contractor finished the job and the customer had issues, so we went back twice for free over an hour drive, paid for materials and labor to fix the issues, and did what we could to try and remedy the situation and make the customer happy. This simply was not possible, no matter what  we did or offered, so we simply walked away.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

    Thanks,

    ***********************

I am rejecting this response because *********************** failed to perform the work in accordance with the contract. For example, surfaces that were not to be painted were not masked, including paint applied directly to unprotected windows and screens, surfaces were left unpainted, holes were not patched, including rotted wood that was simply painted over. I was and remain deeply dissatisfied as well as disappointed in the performance of the job, as any reasonable homeowner would be.  I very clearly identified performance deficiencies, all of which are unmistakably supported by the pictures I previously provided as evidence.  *********************** did not return with additional materials that he states he purchased without charges.  He returned without adequate tools and materials to complete the work. In fact, he used fuel from my personal fuel containers to power a pressure washer.

He stated that I was not a customer that could be satisfied, while I am, in fact, a customer who isn't pleased with his poor-craftsmanship and shotty workmanship. He was more interested in starting the long holiday weekend than correcting the issues that I identified. I am now left with the completely unnecessary and very expensive cost of replacing nearly all of my window and porch screens because of his slop-job painting. What customer would be satisfied with that?

    Sincerely,

    ***********************
