Used DT Construction LLC to install a walk-in shower/tub combination in February of 2020. Mr. **** ***** was our point of contact and he drew up the contract for this job Mr. ***** stated that there was a lifetime warranty on the unit and we could contact them anytime if a problem arose. The unit started to leak and caused the carpet in the adjacent room to become wet..Subsequently, the strong smell of mold and mildew stinks up our entire master bedroom area and we had to discontinue using the shower/tub unit because of health concerns.. We've attempted to contact Mr. ***** and DT Construction at the numbers that he provided. The ************ number MAILBOX IS FULL and I have not been able to leave a message for over two weeks. The office number ************ is answered by different **** and I've explained the problem at least four times to them but have not been contacted as of yet.Initial Complaint

DT construction quoted me a project for approx $64,000 back in March of 2022. Work started in June 2022. Permits with the ********************, ** were filed. To date I have paid them $40,000 and both of my checks have been cashed. To date I contacted *****, ******* and ****** who no longer answer my calls. To date, I calculate $13,580 in work has been completed per the final/agreed proposal. Framing of movie room $3,200 (which still Is not level and needs to be corrected!), electric for movie room ($1,000), concrete room conversion ($5,700), grading and ground prep by leveling floor before installation of concrete ($1,890), Price to install concrete walls on back of room ($1,790). No additional work has been performed since Q3 2022. Additionally, my permits are approaching expedition or have expired. The sun contractor electrician keeps calling me weekly for an update, as he has not heard from the contractor. If we do not move forward, I am requiring a balance of $26,420 be returned immediately. Please advise. *************************Initial Complaint

I had used this company before for my basement project and didnt think I would have an issue with them doing another project for me. I **************** with a deposit of $1800 to do my kitchen floors. They stated they were going to start on the floors before Thanksgiving. It is now after the new year and my floors are still not done. Ive ask for my deposit back and Im getting the run around. I have called, texted, and sent emails during the entire month of December. I signed a contract and no job was performed! This is not the way business should be conducted.Initial Complaint

I hired DT Construction a few months ago. The work was supposed to begin on 10/18. A week prior, I asked if we could add an electric fireplace. This was ordered the following week. I checked in with DT Construction 2 weeks later and there was a delay in shipping. Another month goes by, haven't heard anything from them. Two weeks ago, I reached out for a refund. I haven't heard anything. I've called 4 times and keep being told that this is the only number they have and I can't talk to a supervisor. I just want my deposit back at this point.Initial Complaint

On or around Oct 14, 2022, my 87-year old mother signed a contract with this company for the partial repair/renovation of her kitchen, bathroom vanity, and a bit of work in a powder room and den. This company was to have supplied cabinets specifically from the retailer Cabinets to Go. We spoke at length about this when the three of us met to sign the contract. At that time, my mother gave **** a check for $13,000+ as a 50% payment on the total job. ******************* assured me on or around the next day that he had placed the order with Cabinets to Go and told me they would be in, in about 3 weeks. Meanwhile, we decided the required bathroom vanity did not need to be that fancy and could come from another retailer. He bought that and had his crew install this. At that time, I paid the next required payment, which was around $6,000+. After that, his crew has picked up and delivered flooring that I paid for, and moved one existing cabinet in the kitchen. **** gave me a couple of updates on the kitchen cabinets - saying they could be installed the week of Thanksgiving. They were never delivered/installed. I happened to be at Cabinets to Go to look at countertops and spoke to manager *****, the man **** says he deals with. ***** could find no record of my cabinets ever having been ordered. Now I can get no one from DT Construction to call me back. Neither can *****, DT has nearly $20,000 of my mother's money and she has nothing but a $600 bathroom vanity and a small amount of bathroom flooring put down. After numerous attempts to reach **** and ******, and numerous phone calls and an attempt to visit their office, I finally received a call Friday evening from a man named *******, who says he is a back office manager. I spent 25 min explaining the situation to him. He promised to investigate the matter and get back to me Saturday. I've tired to contact him 7 times since then with no return call at all. I am happy to provide copies of checks, etc.Initial Complaint

1. Signed a contract with this Contractor on 3/11/22 with expected completion by summer 2022 (contract can be provided if needed)2. Contactor has not completed the work and refuses to respond to calls, emails, and text messages for an update 3. The contractor is acting like they do not understand what was included in the signed contract. "I didn't know" has been the common statement 4. For the last 5 months, the contractor has only worked 60% of that time. It's now week 5 since the last visit and no communication with me despite texts and phone calls to align on ETA of completion (I was told in June that they would be finished by July)5. I am being told that finishes will need to be adjusted from custom to standard, although the contract clearly states which types of finishes are included. This includes a custom glass wine cellar door that they are charging me for ($2000) but want to switch to a door that is lesser cost. 6. The contractor also changed the flooring option I selected for the stairs and painted them versus installs LVT; the cost of $3800 is now overstated and I have communicated this as well as #5 but they are silent 7. There are several items that are incomplete. The total list of what I could find along with pictures has been uploaded. All of these items as well as my concerns have been provided to the contractor multiple times via, text, email, and call/voicemail. I have receive little to no response.8. I provided the contactor a list of all desired finishes (cabinets, doors, tiles, paint, etc..) on March 23rd and am still waiting on installations of items I was told were ordered several months ago (many coming from Amazon or ********** that show the items in stock or available in days)9. The contractor asked for a funding advance on what was owed (10% balance) of which I provided $3000, yet work has stalled 10. I want them to finish the job immediately 11. There is trash all over the patio area that has been their for monthsBusiness response

we apologies for any delay this caused.

This is my 2nd complaint (first complaint is #********). This contractor has refused to complete the remodel that they contractually agreed to render. After the first complaint the contractor responded on 9/15 stating that they "already have the missing materials and doors" and were "scheduled to do the installation the following Monday morning" which would have been 9/19. THIS WAS A LIE! On Monday afternoon (9/19), the site supervisor came to my home with the barn doors and the shower door in their boxes. THAT WAS IT! He stayed at the home for about 30 minutes during which time we talk (again) about what was still needed. He explained that the crew would be available on Tuesday (9/20) or Wednesday (9/21) at the latest. He ensured that he would call me if anything changed with that timeline. He picked up most of the trash that was left on my patio and left. Fast forward to today (9/27), NO ONE HAS SHOWN UP. I reached out to the site supervisor on Thursday (9/22) and again on Monday (9/26) to find out what was going on and when I could expect someone to come and finish. My calls/texts have been ignored and I have yet to get a response on a timeline for completion. To make matters worse, I have discovered that the electric is not working in the kitchen for the appliances (stove and microwave). This is now 2 months of waiting to see if this contractor will come and complete the job they started. They clearly do not have all of the materials that are needed to complete the job and have failed to communicate with me although they continue to lie and say that the will.Customer response
