Metro Metering Solutions continues to charge me late fees for payments that are not late. I sent them a certified letter showing exactly when my payments were sent and they ignored it. They never responded to me and they did not adjust my balance accordingly. I will not pay these bogus late fees. Month after month I make my payments on time. I pay ONLY the amount I owe. And month after month they retaliate by adding ANOTHER late fee. My balance now has $40 in late fees and I want them removed immediately.I'll also note that Metro Metering doesn't even list the late fees on the bill. They are hidden within the the "Other Adjustments" amount. They do this in hopes that people don't look closely at their bills and pay money they don't owe. This is shady behavior and most likely a violation of consumer protection laws. Metro Metering seems to think they can do whatever they want because their "customers" don't get to choose their water billing company. I will take legal action if necessary. I can't be the only victim of this and it needs to stop.Initial Complaint

I bought a town home in *****************. Approximately a week after closing A pipe burst in the upstairs bathroom which damaged floors, ceiling below and water stains. Went ask if they would adjust water bill they would not and have cont. to pile on fees even though my water has been shut off since the incidentBusiness response

We are sorry about the issue in your home. Metro Metering Solutions is contracted by your community to collect all water usage from all residents and are obligated per our contract to do so.
Metro Metering Solutions is NOT the provider of your water and per contract Metro Metering Solutions does not have the authority to adjust or credit your account. Your community is the provider
of your water utility , Metro Metering Solutions is Only contracted to perform billing services based on meter reads. All funds collected by Metro Metering Solutions are reimbursed monthly to your community.
For any credits or concerns about this issue you would need to contact Serenbe business office or the property manager as they would have sole authority to handle your concerns.

Metro Metering Solutions **** has been sending erroneous ******** over-charging my account repeatedly and ignoring my communications with them regarding this matter since 12/13/2022.The company charged my account a " Debit Adjustment " of $271.53 on 11/14/2022 with NO explanation or justification. It also started charging my account a " Late Fee " every month despite my monthly payments paid in a timely manner. I contacted the company via its website as soon as I received my November statement and discovered the illegitimate " Charge " to my account. I have sent a total of six ( 6 ) messages/complaints to the company via its website ,yet received NO response whatsoever to date. ( the company's website promised a reply within 48 hours )Business response

Metro Metering Solutions is a billing company contracted by this residents ***. All charges applied to this residents account were under the direction of the *** per our contract.
The charges the resident are referring to are charges that were applied by the *** due to past water usages not charged by the previous billing company. I personally have reached out to this resident and in detail
explained via email the reason for these charges.

This is NOT an error in billing and the amount of $271.53 (there has also been a $10 late fee making the amount due ******) was added to your account by the *** board for true up in billing due to billing being estimated for over a year prior to Metro Metering starting with the community.
I will explain how this happened. There are 2 parts to your meter there is the actual meter ( this never stops working and the transmitter which is a device that sends the meter read to a data collection system ) ******** collection system in the community was down for a year or better, once repaired and actual reads started coming in your meter showed you had been under billed by ****** gallons during that time which equals $271.53. The *** board in the community made the decision to charge residents for the usage they had not been billed for. This is why you see the charge. Metro Metering was not involved in this decision and all further concerns should be directed to your community.

I am rejecting this response because:The statement that the company made about reaching out to the "resident" in December 2022 was NOT TRUE.
There was NO email received from Metro Metering Solutions on 12/27/2022.
The letter dared 12/27/22 appeared to be CREATED to cover up their fraudulent business practices.
The company never provided any back-up evidence to substantiate "resident"'s alleged ENORMOUS AMOUNT of water usage in the past as claimed.
As a result of my understanding of the case, I am NOT satisfied with this company.

I have attached copies of that exact email in which you said I didnt send. Prior to accusing someone of lying you would be positive that never happened by checking inbox and spam/junk folders.
I previously told you your dispute was not with Metro Metering Solutions and was with *********************. Somehow you still dont understand that you are complaining about the wrong company, your community whom we handle billing for put that charge on your account. It is up to your community to explain that to you.
I have turned over your comments to our attorney who will be in touch . Your attempts to slander our company will not go unanswered.

I am rejecting this response because:The latest message from the business does not address the issues mentioned in my previous communications. More specifically, my response on 2/9/2023 listing my objections. The company's actions must be fact based and evidence supported. The illegitimate charges I complained about were all unsupported.

our complex switched to this company, and they were overcharging ** for over a year when we found out they were "estimating" instead of actually reading the meter. Once that was supposedly taken care of, they claimed that every unit had to install a new transmitting meter and we all had to pay over $170 to do that. Now they are continuing with their scam and sending us all letter that we all have to replace our water meters. So I called them up and asked why they took our $176 dollars to install a new transmitting unit if they knew we needed new meters, and they told me they had to do that first in order to see if we needed new meters. I am NOT playing that game. They are scamming all of us and people need to know NOT to use this company.Initial Complaint

This complaint regarding water ****. We are a small business and only use water for the restroom. Our normal **** is around $40 per month. However, we receive a charge of $1,539.91 for Jan 2022 water usage and about $530 for Feb 2022, and about $1,000 for March 2022. With a Total of $3,048.45. We check our water there is not any leak of our water, and submit a picture of the correct meter reading, and call the water company. The manager told us, we are looking at the wrong meter, the water meter should be inside the building, and they send someone to our store to check before the billing. However, our employee confirms, that NO ONE EVER comes to our store to check the meter, and there is no meter inside our store. We call the billing company again , and ask them to send someone out to check if they have any questions. They ignore our call and email. Finally, we are able to reach them, and they are rejected to send someone out, and asked us to call the building management. We call building management and they asked us to call water billing company.
