On Apr 19th, I signed along with *************************** a contract that I had drawn up. The terms of the contract were 50% down and 50% upon completion and be done by May 18. He was supposed to remove and replace the siding on two gables, chimney, and 3 dormers. He was also supposed to finish a job that he had started but not completed prior to the contract on a bay window area. He was to keep everything clean and picked up at the end of each work day. I had fully paid him for the bay job and a deposit of $6450. He did buy a portion of the materials and brought them to my house. He had his crew remove the vinyl on the *****, wrap and put wood up to support the Hardiboard. He advised me to remove shingles that a previous hire had put up on the back of my house removed. He said he would remove and replace the back wall and small back ***** for another $2400. I gave him $1200 more for more shingles-he never bought them. During the ***** work, a window was pulled out and broken, and an exact match could not be found so we had to modify-which I have since learned can only be done by a GC. ****** is not a GC. They finally started putting the shingles on the one ***** and a different guy ripped everything off of the dormers. Not one job has been finished, the dormers are bare, and they left the place a pigsty. During this timeframe, ****** would come to me frequently and ask for draws against what was still owed, even though that was not the contract terms. One weekend he called me and kept asking me to Zelle him $2000 immediately, it got to be where he was demanding it. The constant ask for money was concerning to me. I finally did as a good faith gesture, go ahead with a payment of $1800-because his son asked and said they needed the money, ****** never showed up at my house again and did not send anyone to finish. He violated the terms of the contract. I will say the two sons are good at their work and I would hire them but w/o their Dad or stepmom involved.

9/1/22 I engaged Quality Remodeling to restore the ground/upstairs floors in my home. This work was promised to be completed it approximately 2 weeks. Payments were agreed to be paid as draws at periodic times during the work. The first draw of $6333 was paid on 9/2/22 when work commenced. Flaws were detected in the original construction of the walls and it was agreed that I would pay an additional $3500 to correct the flaws in order for the walls to be straight and level. A payment of $1500 was made on 9/7/22 to cover the materials on for the walls, with the balance of $2000 to be added to the next draw. On 9/9/22 I was told by *************************** of QR that in order for work to continue I would have to pay the next draw of $6333 plus the additional $2000 for the wall repair. I issued QR a check for $8833 on 9/9/22. From that point work has slowed considerably. Little or no work was completed until 9/23/22. A sheetrock crew was sent out to repair very substandard work. I received a call from *************************** instructing me to pay the sheetrock workers $1200 at the end of the day. I asked why couldn't he pay them and I was told that he could not make it to my home in time and the workers needed to be paid in order to come back and complete the job. I paid them, they have not been back to complete the work. I then engaged a homeinspector to review the quality of the sheetrock work and needless to say the review was completely negative. After sending the report to Quality Remodeling, on 10/6&7/22, a new crew was sent to my home to repair the sheetrock. The quality of the work so far is acceptable. The late afternoon of 10/7/22 I receieved a call from ***************************** instructing me to pay the new workers $1800, when I asked why, he said he didn't have the money. To date I have paid $24066. The work is not complete I do have a written contract. Website will not allow attachments. Will be more than happy to provide detailed documentation. I have photos, videos, and notes.
