We booked The Orchard at Perry's Landing (a new wedding venue) under the assumption that it would look like the pictures provided by the owner. We have been to see the venue several times since we booked it, and it looks nothing like what was promised. We ended up cancelling the wedding venue due to false advertising. We are due a partial refund (even though we believe we are entitled to a full refund based on the circumstances). It has been over a month since we cancelled and the refund still has not been received after multiple requests.

The complaint by Mrs ******* lacks merit for several reasons:

She was mailed a refund check prior to this filing. She was refunded 25% of the payment made (less the $1000 deposit) in accordance with the wedding contract which the couple signed.

There are too many people involved with no clear accountability. We were advised of the wedding cancellation via text message to me by the groom, not Mrs, *******.

They requested a meeting but failed to meet even though they selected the meeting dates: **** * ** **** **.

I spoke to Mrs  ******* via the phone and offered to meet with the bridal party upon our return to the USA. We were out of the country when they sent the cancellation notice - via text message. ******* (the groom) informed us that had no interest in meeting since “nothing” we could say would alter their decision to cancel.

Their expectation (the details of which is too numerous to list) that the venue would be set up as they envisioned five (5) months BEFORE their wedding date is ludicrous. We have weddings almost every weekend and all our couples have different expectations for their venue and their big day.

They failed to show up ….after requesting a meeting.
