  On December 14, 2021 we hired ***************** (owner, True Works Georgia LLC) to clear land for us, trim two trees and create a circle driveway in our front yard. We paid 50% of the total cost upfront. **** told us he would complete the entire project by the end of the year, but it soon became obvious that would not be the case. **** cashed our check #**** for $8,130, but was unreliable and wouldn't show up for work for days at a time. He was difficult to get a hold of and would often show up only after we texted and called him several days in a row. We grew concerned over time as the project dragged on. In February 2022, we decided to part ways once the circle driveway was finished. We told **** we would not use True Works Georgia LLC for the remaining work (the tree trimming and land clearing). **** acknowledged that he owed us a refund. We were quoted $5,875 from True Works Georgia for the portion of work that was completed (the circle driveway in the front yard). We paid $8,130 upfront, so we expected a refund of $2,255. However, after several weeks of attempting to work with **** to get our refund (dozens of phone calls, text messages, voice mails), **** has failed to return any funds back to us (even after we offered to accept $1,718). An acceptable solution would be for *****************/True Works Georgia LLC to refund the money ASAP. We would still be willing to accept a refund of $1,718 if it meant avoiding small claims court.
