I have only taken my vehicle to Subaru of Macon. I have taken it in twice for a noise in the engine compartment. After no resolution, I took it to another repair shop and they found that someone had replaced my catalytic converter. This is the only shop that has had my vehicle for anything other than an oil change and tire replacement. I want to know why they did not notice the repair as the source of the noise or why they replaced something without telling me.

I have called the customer directly to discuss his concern. We have agreed to have his mechanic in *** ****** send pictures of the concern so my Subaru Technician can advise on next steps to rectify the concern.

Refusal to complete warranty covered maintenance. They refuse to replace a failing battery that is covered by warranty. They attempt to convince me it is not a problem. The stated “the alternator does not charge the battery” a quote two employers told me. I scheduled the repair with them after telling them about the issue: Having needed to get multiple jump starts. I drove an hour to their location and they told me because the battery had a charge when they tested it they couldn’t replace it. Of course it has a charge, I just drove it an hour to get there, after again needing to jump start it. They gave me poor options of resolution, with no further assistance offered.

The client brought his vehicle to the dealership service department on ****** ***** **** with a weak battery concern.  The vehicle battery was tested by our technician using our ********** battery charger/tester. (see attached results printout)  The vehicle battery was re-charged by the system and tested under load.  As per the testing equipment, the battery was given a "GOOD" test result.  Therefore, it was not advised to the client to replace the battery.  The client insisted that we replace the battery under warranty.  However, if a battery tests good, Subaru will not replace a battery under warranty conditions.  This was explained to the client, but he did not agree. After reviewing with the Service Manager, the most likely reason for the battery's weakened condition is simply the lack of usage.  With only 5921 miles on the vehicle, the alternator does not get time to maintain the battery's charge.
