The event was on ******** *, 20**. The price of the venue for the day I rented was $130 with a $150 refundable deposit. In total I paid $280 for that date. Three days after the event I reached out to the owner via text there is no way to actually speak with the owner over the phone. I asked the time frame for the return of the deposit. Within 30 minutes I was sent via ******* $70 no explanation or response to my original message. I sent a follow up text to ask what were the deductions that left me with that amount. The owner responded there was trash left in the building and that my deposit was only $95 dollars. I responded that my signed contract stated $150 deposit so if there was going to be a $25 deductible I should actually be owed $125 back. The owner stated she would check the contract and let me know. I reached out the following day after not hearing anything back and the owner stated there was so much trash and that she actually over paid me. She went from telling me there were 2 bags of trash to 6 bags of trash and soda cans. We did not serve sodas and there were only two trash bags left was my response. She stopped replying and hasn’t said anything else since.

***** ******* signed a contract indicating she would remove all trash from the building after her event.  Upon arrival 12/3, ***** had left one large commercial container filled with trash- this consisted of 2 larger bags (One that was not even tied up and had food and rubbish spilling out into the trash can and spilled food everywhere when I tried to dump into the large canister. ) This generally means the entire deposit should have been forfeited- per her signed contract.  Next to the large container, was a 3rd full trashbag.  There are 4 other trash receptacles through out the building and ***** had left trash in EVERY SINGLE TRASH CAN.  In the smaller receptacles, she had dumped drinks into each bag which meant each container also had to be dumped so that the next event would not be inconvenienced.  Adhering to the signed contract, I should have kept her entire deposit, however I avoid keeping deposits at all costs.  In this case, I had to make 4 trips to the dumpster to dispose of everything she had left.  Judging from her response, she had intentionally left the trash for me to take out.  ***** also intenionally did not send your organization the screen shots of our conversation, because she is lying.  I never said there were sodas- there were drinks dumped in the containers.  I never changed my reasoning nor changed my story.  There were TWO trashbags inside ONE container- that is the only time I ever said "2 bags".  I have attached the pictures I have (I can't attach more than *.  As you can see from the picture of the large trashcan, there was more than one bag in the container.  Unfortunately, you can not see the drink at the bottom of the bags in the pictures that I have of the containers,    I was not in front of my computer when I typed $95 deposit and it was simply a typo.  ***** paid a $150 deposit, and I kept $80 for all of the trash that was left in the building.  Any other venue or company would have kept her entire deposit, but in the spirit of giving and the holiday season, I only kept $80 ($25 x 3 bags and then I only added $5 for the 4 other smaller containers)  The amount withheld was MORE than fair, and no other money will be refunded. ***** was sent a copy of her signed contract several times to explain why she was charged.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

If there was an event after mine before the building was clean then this trash could belong to anyone. Those pictures of the small trash cans seem to be from another party especially with the beer bottle top and are clearly not full of drinks as stated. The larger bags are tied even though it’s been stated they were open and trash was spilling everywhere. There seems to be no resolution here because Kori refuses to take responsibility or acknowledge where she was wrong. She is willing to lie and when questioned about it, simply stop replying to people.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *******
