In 2022, Dr. ********************** and his office were selected during spring 2022 to provide me medical care as a result of a diagnosis of melanoma cancer. The experience of dealing with the doctor and his staff was not good, and hence this complaint:1. I was not credited properly for office visits. There is no record of a payment made in cash and I seemed to have been doubled billed (and insurance claims double processed). Gross confusion. Hence, the office -- despite my (and my insurance company CIGNA's) many attempts to resolve these matters over months -- wrongfully has told me that I still owe $15 or $20. I do not. They simply won't assist. I am now receiving a collection notice, and that is disturbing and threatening. No one in the office wants to help -- they blame the Wellstar billing company, other departments...on and on. 2. Wellstar company billed me and CIGNA for a preop appointment that was never scheduled. I and CIGNA have inquired about this in writing and on the telephone, but they insist I came into ******************* for a preop appointment some days before my surgery. This never happened. I have requested documentation of this multiple times but nothing has been provided. I paid my portion of the charges ($91) since the office and Wellstar sent harassing notice, but I dispute this. CIGNA disputes this as well based on my communication with them. I was told that I came into hospital for preop tests (including Covid), but once again I never did. I have only set foot in the hospital once in my life, and that was for my surgery. No preop appointment and visit. Dr. ********************** won't assist. He says he isn't involved even though he was my physician. He passes the buck or believes he's above this patient matter.3. Dr. ********************** failed in his responsibilities to me the day of my surgery. I was kept waiting over six hours in the hospital without communication. Apparently he fell behind, which I can understand (and I told him that later). Yet instead of notifying me on a very stressful day, he and his staff ignored me for hours. When I asked him why, he said it wasn't his responsibility to communicate with his patients. Only a family friend/doctor at the hospital let me know what was going on. Otherwise I was kept in the dark and treated as if I were invisible and worthless. Thus, Dr. ********************** was negligent in his professional duties. He simply didn't bother to communicate. As a result:4. I was billed for some equipment and surgery-related things at the hospital that were revealed to me and explained in person (a breathing device and medication) but ultimately not supplied. I was told these would be left in a bag and given to me at check out, but by the time I was released from hospital (due to Dr. **********************'s tardiness and his breakdown in communication), many departments -- including the emergency room and surgery check in/check out -- were closed. I was also provided no pain medication since the hospital pharmacy was also closed. As a result, I was put at risk or not provided equipment/supplies explained to me and to be provided before the surgery. No only was this a breech in service and patient care, but I was charged for them. This is wrong. Dr. ********************** and his office has ignored these important issues and only bullied me. The doctor and his won't explain why such things occurred, get the charges reversed, apologize and be honest.
