Storm Roof assured me they could do the job easily and had years of experience FRAUD! Nothing was built correct at all. The ***** that was intact they damaged badly, while the ***** they built was wrong 100%. Wrong rafter size, no side supports, ***** done wrong, siding installed wrong! I can barely find anything that was done right a week into the nightmare project. Thank god I at least got some of the money back via a chargeback and I guarantee no one in their right mind would disagree with me. They failed the inspection they didnt show up for. The main ridge beam and every rafter was cut wrong and failed not only the inspection but my engineer has documented how bad everything is and recommends a full re-build. I will be out of house longer because of this. They used scrap wood meant for my burn pile to rebuild my home when I wasnt looking. I seriously have a novel and over 200 pics of SHODDY SHODDY work! Every quote I get to rebuild is costing as much and more than the entire contract we had signed Im not even sure what restitution needs to be at this point. I asked them to come by and halt work as I had time to process how badly things were looking. When I pointed out some of the problems ***** decided to walk off the project and take the money and leave me with clean up as well as a broken *****, work that wont pass ANY inspection. Furthermore I paid ******* extra for them to pull a permit so codes would be met and someone would be responsible Theyre not too concerned since they couldnt pull their own permit and used someone elses license The rafters that support the ridge beam have been cut wrong 3 different ways. They also threatened a LIEN on my home and several other threats if I dont pay up! The least they can do is admit they made a huge mistake as I have overwhelming evidence beyond a shadow of any doubt they didnt know what theyre were doing aside from contracts and trying to CON me. Good thing I took so many pics and vids!Business response

Good afternoon, ********. I am ******* business partner and was the rep that interacted most with ****************.
When any business owner starts a company, this is the last type of experience we want to have with our loyal and growing fan base. We stand on the principle that "The Customer is the Center of Our Universe". In ******************** case, we are incredibly disappointed to see this review, but we maintain a different view on the situation and would like for the details to be clear to anyone who may read this review and our response.
******************** home on ******************* Dr. was crushed by a tree in 2023. After securing a portion of recovery funds from his ****************** State Farm, and countless hours of planning and quoting, **************** hired my company, StormROOF Systems, to make changes to the frame of his home, install a new roof, and install gutters to the back half of his home. This deal was signed on 2/29/24. StormROOF had permits pulled with the city of ******** to follow ******************** engineer plans.
A $9,000.00 down payment was paid by **************** which he has also disputed through our Merchant Processor. This down payment was to secure permits, crews, and the materials necessary to begin the work. Our contract was signed for $49,416.43 and covered an extensive amount of work and reframing to restore his home to a livable and respectable condition. **************** stated clearly from the beginning that he had fired multiple contractors and didn't trust anyone to perform the work correctly. We turned down his attitude surrounding insurance funds and contractor payments. Even after finally settling on a scope of work and payment plan, and before the work had even begun, **************** continued to issue weekly and sometimes daily change orders to try and bring the total bill down. All in, **************** had received over $160,000.00 from State Farm, and was obsessed about keeping as much of that as possible for himself - Offering to complete as much of the work as possible himself.
Our work began on March 18th with the removal of his tarps, roof, and re-framing the damage caused from the tree impact. Materials were ordered and labor was performed to scope. We took another 25% payment of $12,000.00 by check at the completion of framing.
After Framing, we replaced the remainder of his roof with shingles, Synthetic felt, Ice and Water Barrier, Drip edge, and some new decking in affected areas. Additional framing work was also performed that was not in our original scope and that **************** was not charged for.
At the completion of the roof, another 25% was due. **************** was ecstatic about our work and glad that this portion was over, but he told us multiple times that he had used the rest of his insurance money for personal investments. This was money that was supposed to be funding our project together. We advised him that more work would not be completed until we were paid for the 3rd 25% installment of the roof. **************** repeatedly removed items from our scope of work, and repeatedly asked for us to complete work that was outside of our written agreement. We have 10's of thousands of dollars in materials costs and hundreds of man hours in this project that he is currently benefiting from, and is now contesting financially.
We do not have a written refund policy because we are providing a construction and renovation service. There are no refunds. We do offer strong and competitive warranties on work performed after payment is made in full.
**************** began verbally attacking my crew, swearing at them in the morning after late nights of drinking, and claiming that his frame is "Not squared off". ******************** home was hit by a tree and his work is flawless. He supervised the entire build with my project managers and team. He had no issue with our work until we asked for payment. Now he has issued charge backs on card payments after maxing out his cards and remaining unemployed. He has "invested" all of his insurance funds and we suspect that he lost them in the market and in bitcoin based off of the conversations we had with **************** during the 100+ hours we spent with him during the build.
After coming to the conclusion that **************** was out of money for the remainder of his project (Soffit, ******, and ******* to the back half of the home), and navigating multiple pain points with the homeowner with poise and professional pragmatism, we agreed to discount the remaining balance and leave him to complete the remaining minor trades on his own. The frame was complete, the roof was installed, and **************** was officially "Dried" in.
I believe that **************** never had any intention of honoring our agreement, and that has been made more clear to me after he contested charge backs for work that was performed AND benefited him. We are the 7th contractor that **************** has run off for this project, and I see why. I strongly suspect that he has a pattern of behavior associated with chargebacks and bullying contractors with negative reviews for work that was performed on his property to his specifications and to engineer plans and city standards. If the chargeback rules in his favor, we will have no choice to pursue him legally, both with ***** and in court.
**************** made it clear that his goal was to maximize insurance pay out and minimize his personal cost. While I understand his goal in theory, **************** was not afraid to cut corners and bypass key parts of the process. StormROOF Systems provided **************** and exceptional service, in an unimaginable time frame, prioritizing his job over others. **************** got the deal of a life time on quality work that we stand by. His home looks brand new now. What he's claiming should be criminal. StormROOF Systems bills for work performed, and we were hired to perform a service that required us to front the bill on materials. **************** got BOTH work, and results.
The work that was not performed was not billed for. This job was estimated to take up to 3 weeks, and was completed in under 10 days.
The remaining trades that were not billed for total: $5,159.28 for Fascia, Soffit, and Gutters along the back half of his home. The Total contract with **************** was for $49,416.43. The total amount collected and billed from StormROOF Systems was $32,500.00 before **************** began attempting to recover charge backs. **************** had over $17,000 removed from his total to call this job a wash and walk away from the most unpleasant customer we have ever interacted with (again, this is before accounting for credit card charge backs). Please see supporting documents.
In the end, materials were ordered, installed, and **************** is getting back to a state of normalcy. I won't take my roof back off of his house. I won't take the framing out and leave him homeless. How **************** manages his money should not become my problem to solve. If we believed that we had any possibility of recovering the funds lost in this project, we would make attempts to settle. I find it interesting that **************** is accusing "Fraud", when he is taking advantage of small business that wanted nothing more than to help him with a successful project and complete his goals on his timeline. This whole situation has been a learning experience on when to recognize red flags in a potential customer early.
Despite all of this, I do still wish **************** the best of luck and a successful life. He needs as much as he can get.

I am rejecting this response because: Ive seen their proof of work or lack of. They have pics that show structures 30 feet away but no pics of the actual issues Please look at their documentation thoroughly as they attack my character so as to look ****** their docs they actually used my engineers drawings as if they supplied them
Afterwards look at mine. I havent even gotten into the mistakes on the contract yet, as there are many there as well. One of my documents is a 10 page write up by ******************** STRUCTURAL ENGINEER : THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW HIS DRAWINGS!!! I was LIED to on so many levels that by the fourth day of hearing trust the process and staying up all night finding mistake after mistake after mistake I was LIVIDstill am! I was told we would use scaffolding to protect my greenhouse and for safety of the workers. No They made a makeshift protective barrier using my tarps, my wood as well. I was told they had the correct flashing for my wood stoveNo they just re-used my old damaged flashing and didnt even get it aligned! Its not like there were 5 or 10 minor mistakes here. Whats worse is they knew that they messed up badly and tried to hide MAJOR MISTAKES multiple times! I feel bad for anyone that gets this quality of service from anyone. My Uncle happens to be a state inspector and he is urging me to bring this to a State level next since they would rather attack my character as apposed to recognizing any fault. I have facts and currently can back everything up 100% as well. I have 3 estimates for repairs and am currently getting written statements from actual General Contractors that can pull a proper permit pertaining to the level of mistakes needing repair. Every builder , contractor , and just anyone Ive shown the work to is amazed at the level of negligence.
Maybe they will learn not to cut corners so much, actually provide quality work, and learn integrity going forward. They seemed to know what they were doing because of how confident they were. I actually liked them as people until they decided they could disrespect my house, take advantage of my situation, damage my home, lie to me, not take any responsibility and walk off.. I didn't fire anyone as theyre the only ones I hired. Everyone else involved has been paid in full! Might be time to really look hard at what actually happened and not hide behind a lengthy false narrative that is actually defamation.
Sincerely,
*************************Business response

Our original position holds firm on this matter. **************** hired us to complete an insurance based storm restoration project after catastrophic loss due to tree damage on his property. After running out of money, **************** began looking for as many ways to reduce his financial obligation as possible. Reducing and changing Scope of work, countless proposals and change orders, additional labor we were not compensated for, and hundreds of man hours that we bear the cost for.
The only mistake we made in this entire interaction was accepting this project and working with **************** in the first place. After running out of money, cursing out our team (and other teams), changing time parameters, changing scope, and gambling away his insurance funds (meant to go toward this project), he has chosen to make this our ongoing problem. He will not be issued a refund, and we are prepared to escalate this to legal. Materials were ordered, work was performed, costs were incurred. We stand by our work and our customers. **************** was with us every minute that we worked on his home, and he had a demanding and extensive list of requirements. We were up for the challenge, so long as we believed that we were getting paid for our work. There will be no waiver of lien, and **************** caught the best deal he will ever get on a roof or construction project working with with us. I can't force him to see eye to eye with us on this, but I was deeply involved in this project, and we moved mountains to accomplish his goals in an unrealistic timeline at a competitive and aggressive price. There is no industry or universe in which deals are negotiated after the work has been performed. We have a signed agreement, progress photos, completion photos, and a team full of men who all took a hit on this job emotionally and financially. That is not ******************** problem. We were willing to walk away from this job and leave it alone. We restored his home to a state better than his pre-loss condition, and left his property far better than we found it. **************** is suffering from unemployment and economic instability, and while we are sympathetic to his situation at a human level. From a business perspective, we we refuse to do any more dealings or interactions with him.

I am rejecting this response because: Again the company resorts to underhanded tactics to absolve themselves from responsibility ... FAILED INSPECTION, BREACH OF CONTRACT, I have presented documents supporting BOTH.

The nature of the complaint is I called this company several times about a cracked window. I was told someone was coming out to check it. But no one has came out. You can clearly see where they dropped roofing into my window and cracked it. I even sent photos showing the Crack.Business response

*************** to Storm Roofing System answer about my window being cracked before they started the work on my roof. As, you can clearly see in the photos the window was hit by a shingle. These are the same photos I sent ****** at Storm Roofing System. So, I don't know where he got that assumption that the window was cracked before they started the work. I will gladly remove complaint once my window is repaired.Business response
