    My household had 3 Anytime Fitness accounts at the ********* ** location. We moved to ***** in late 2019 and transferred two of our accounts by using the locations close to our new home in *****. During the pandemic we moved to cancel our accounts because we were no longer using the gym. My husband successfully cancelled his account but when I went into the location in *****, I was informed that I couldn't cancel my account because it was still tied to the ******* location. I contacted the location on ************* in ******* ** who said that they'd cancelled my account in ******** 2021 and sent me a cancellation statement. Fast forward to *** 2022 and my husband notices that we've been charged $32 per month since ******** for my account which is still active. When I contacted the same location who informed me that they cancelled my account, they NOW claim that they COULDNT cancel my account since it was with that location and to contact the ********* ** location. I have been emailing the ********* location who said that they were able to find my account and cancel it. They stated they would send the cancellation documentation last week but haven't sent anything despite me asking for it via email. If Anytime Fitness hadn't assured me that the account was cancelled in ********, I wouldn't have paid $160 extra dollars for a membership that I haven't used in 2 years. I want the memberships cancelled and a refund of my fees that I've paid from ******** to present.

    Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/23) */ ************************************************************************************************************** As stated, the member was told by another location that the membership would be canceled. Each Anytime Fitness is independently owned and we would not have had any knowledge of them telling the member this information unless the member or that location told us. That location should not have told the member this, because she was not a member at that location. We were not aware of any of this, and when ******* contacted the Grovetown location, the membership was canceled and no further fees were taken. We have emailed ******* a copy of the cancellation, which shows the date it was canceled, and it was the day after the Grovetown staff spoke to her. Her husband and son were canceled because they had transferred to a Texas location, due to their usage.
