See attachment with a detailed timeline of events for a poor service and installation of our kitchen renovation project. We'd like to file a formal complaint on this company that has bullied us to pay for goods and services either not rendered or done improperly and now we have to pay another party to correct massive issues with installation.Business response

To whom it may concern.
Unfortunately this was a very intensive project with difficult clients that we have tried to satisfy for the last few month.
Custom natural oak cabinets were picked and designed by their designer who actually recommended us and has worked with us for the past 4 years and is currently continually referring business to us because of our quality and customer service.Yes, the initial doors and some drawers came from the cabinet builder in unadaptable condition. Those were exchanged and other product was installed. Customer was unhappy with some natural color variations and some finishes. My partner Dmitry was working there virtually full time to satisfy these clients, and we offered to replace all of the fronts with new oak that my partner sourced in ** and had to drive to pick it up. Then he took it to the new cabinet maker to get it finished in natural color.
Every morning that Dmitry came to work with his helper there were new stickers and blue tape, even though we informed clients multiple times on multiple occasions that the finished will be done onsite last, lots of frustration was building. Eventually Dmitry's helper quit and Dmitry could no longer communicate with the clients. All he needed is another day or so to finalize the finishes and finish door casing which you see their pictures of. But in reality we could have wrapped up and left long time ago, but clients seemed interested in us finalizing. When we were 95% done new issues came up and now they are not paying final ****.

I am rejecting this response because: The business response isn't the truth and they are unethical. Here are relevant project timelines and details to verify our complaint.Fact #1: Our renovation design specs have never changed from the approved documents - not once - throughout the project. The cabinets delivered were built without reviewing specs or any effective quality control, as the island had to be rebuilt three times, the pantry with incorrect doors & depth, incorrect number or drawers - to name a few major issues. Over 90% of the white oak cabinet faces were chipped along the edges from improper handling in production and edge-banding issues. The negligence of the furniture maker/installer is the issue - NOT THE CUSTOMER. When GC ******************** finally agreed to build new faces with a new furniture maker (for cabinet faces only), the delivered cabinet faces by the new furniture maker were nicely made - no issues. We moved forward with countertop installation. We thought we were going to finish together and were happy with this progress. This was *** timeframe when initial demo was early March.
Fact #2: ****, the designer, is not giving new business to GC Services after this issue arose in June. She's embarrassed and appalled that this is the state we are in with a contractor she referred. She communicated to GC Services that she stands by our non-payment and filing as the project closure was handled poorly and the work is embarrassing. She is not proud of this project or the handling by the GC Services of GA.
Fact #3: Dimitri and his worker were not here full-time. They were actually not here much at all. They would be gone for weeks at a time, then days at a time and then would come in the afternoon and work for a few hours - often from noon - 3pm. On many occasions, they would not show up as communicated prior - no form of communication was usually made on days they would not show. For example, Dmitri stated on Wed 6/8 that he would come by Thurs 6/9 to "finalize the project", but never showed or communicated with us on 6/9.
Fact #4: The business owner, ****, has not been onsite to review progress/work completed since 4/19. His partner/project installer, Dimitri, last visited 6/13 to collect his tools and drop three missing shelves (of terrible quality - how do you mess up shelves?). ******* never completed the items he was responsible for. **** seeks final payment for services not completed, poor installation and poor quality cabinets. We communicated to GC Services that we were collecting quotes for the remainder of the work needed to complete our project. That we would pay the right amount to them once we knew how much it would cost us to complete the work they backed out of + fix the issues they created with installation. We are NOT able to use our kitchen today. **** backed out of the remaining items to get us into our kitchen when they began to lose profit. **** mentions that Dimitri had one day remaining of work to do. That one day Dimitri never showed up. He sent an electrician by 6/14 to verify that the electrical is not at code. Electrician said that Dimitri altered his work bringing it out of code and that it would cost $300+ to repair. We made the decision to find a new partner to work with and remove ourselves from the negative partnership that was draining and toxic for us. **** filed a lien on our house 6/29 for the final balance for work which was never complete or acceptable - he never verified the final state of the project personally before his bullying and threatening commenced. It doesn't get more unethical and irresponsible than this.
Fact #5: We are being called "difficult" for communicating the myriad of issues with the custom cabinets, which we were told were an "iterative process on-site with multiple rounds of touch-*** throughout" to finalize the install. The furniture maker nor Dmitri never came back to do any onsite repairs like we were reassured on multiple occasions. We were not ***et over the varied colors of white oak wood as **** claims - it is because inferior materials (MDF) were substituted without notice and it was apparent - entirely unethical. The fact is, the cabinets are hobbled together at this point - there is no consistency in material, clearcoat, or "craftsmanship". The real issue is that we were having to do inspections because nobody else was doing it - the customer should not have this responsibility, then be called "difficult" because their suppliers and subcontractors dropped the ball.
Fact #6: Dimitri and ****************** is clearly unstable. During the remodel the impact of these internal issues carried into our home every day. Dimitri was often short with us, outwardly rude and at one point told my partner's father to leave the kitchen while he was observing them silently working. Having him in our home was making us uncomfortable. He called the designer, ****, bad names, spoke about not wanting to be on the project (actually referred to as prison) and did not care about the quality of what he was doing. He made that clear.
Here is the list of outstanding items that need to be completed or fixed:

Obviously we're on completely different understanding levels of the issue at hand.
As the customer states, they are now working with a new contractor. I'm glad that you found someone to complete those items.
At this time I would like to find closure for both parties. And I did reach out to ***** but haven't heard back.
Let's come to some type of an understanding and settle. Then we can remove the lean and you can remove your complaint. And everyone can move on.
Sincerley,
****
