            I paid $875 for a 10 year guaranty with Bug Off Exterminators. The contract says the annual renewal is for 1 year at $135 which was also paid. I have a re-infestation of termites not even 4 years later and bug off will not honor the contract.

            We had always had our termite bond with Bug-Off. In 2016 we re-newed it for a new 10 year bond. We paid that fee & then just like before paid the annual inspection fees. We never missed a ****. So we assumed it would continue till ****. We also have used the same company (Bug-Off) for our quarterly pest services since we moved into our home in 2009. So 4 times a year we had service & paid our bills on time. They ALWAYS called us to schedule our services when they were due. So we thought we were up to date on everything and had no issues?But then in June 2022 we put our home on the market to sell. As part of the process we had to fill out seller disclosures. On the disclosure form it asked about if we had a termite bond & if it was transferrable? And if so, what was the cost? I knew we had the current termite bond, but I didn't know if it was transferrable and/or the cost. So I called Bug-Off to inquire.They told me that our termite bond was not up to date & thus not in effect. When I asked why they said it hadn't been inspected since 2019 & thus isn't in effect anymore. Again, THEY always call us to schedule our services which we always stayed current on & paid up on (quarterly & annually for 13 years). But since our 2019 last termite inspection Bug-Off changed ownership. Then it was explained to me that when they changed ownership that that the system they use to track ******************* changed.They said they could re-instate the bond if we paid the past 3 years services even though they didn't do them. They would come check it 1 time. Why should we pay 3 times for their error? At first I would have been fine paying for the 1 new inspection needed to get us current (that they wanted to charge 3 times for). But due to the poor customer service about this (not the technician) I think Bug-Off should re-instate the bond at no cost other than future annual checks. We don't have a termite issue. This should still be valid till ****.
