I only used A1A Environmental for asbestos testing, so I can't speak to their remediation services. I can't post photos on BBB, but if I could, it would be photos of A1A's asbestos report, as well as photos of a second report I got from a second opinion/different company. A1A said that I had asbestos in all of the drywall and tile in my home (in addition to more common asbestos locations like my house's vinyl flooring and HVAC tape). I got a second opinion from another company/lab, and the second company said there was no asbestos in the drywall or the tile. The second company's prices were a fraction of the price as a result.Testing with A1A also took 4x longer than they estimated, they didn't bring brooms or a vacuum to clean up their mess, and they left equipment they had to retrieve later. The employee who came for the testing was very polite, but I can't look past the fact that they were trying to charge me to essentially gut my entire house claiming it was full of asbestos, when in fact it was not (per the second opinion from the second company that tested). Also I found a tile in the bathroom that they tested - and the tile said it was dated from 1993. A1A said it was asbestos positive, but asbestos was no longer used in building materials in 1993. So I'm inclined to believe the second opinion I received over the opinion of A1A environmental.

**************,My name is *****************, I am the owner of A1A Environmental. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the services we provided. Feel free to call me on my mobile phone to discuss this further if you wish. My number is ************.Please know that we do not make actual the determination of whether materials do or do not contain asbestos, that is done by a 3rd party accredited laboratory. We deliver all the samples taken to the laboratory to do the actual analysis for asbestos. Please be aware that there was asbestos found to be in the drywall joint compound in your home and it was present in more than 1 sample, so it was not anomalous, and that removing it without taking proper precautions can result in contamination to your home and asbestos exposure to the workers removing the drywall. We highly recommend that you look further into this matter for your own safety. To further clarify, when we are contracted to perform an asbestos inspection, we inspect the building, identify potential asbestos containing materials, collect samples of the materials, and report and explain the results we get from the laboratory to you, our client. We were hired by you to perform this inspection and after getting the results were asked to provide an estimate for removal of the items that were found to be positive. At no time did we ever advise that we had to be contracted to do the work and at no time did we ever state that all the asbestos needed to be removed from your house. We provided this estimate based on your request. If there was any confusion about this, I am sincerely sorry. Our job is to assist our clients, give proper recommendations, and make your life stress free, not stressful. On that note, you stated that we did not clean behind ourselves and that we left a ladder at the property. I am aware of us leaving the ladder, and I hope you can forgive us for this, we try to be better about these things (we are normally successful, but obviously not always). Please note that we did retrieve the ladder, and I am sorry for the inconvenience. I am not aware of us failing to clean, but if we did not do so, it was a true failure on our part. This is not a common occurrence for us, and we have strict policies about leaving our worksites clean. I have addressed your complaint with our management team, and we are using this opportunity to review our cleaning policies with all of our inspectors, project managers, and supervisors. I know this does not solve your complaint, but I want you to know that we are taking it seriously and strive to leave every property we inspect in pristine condition. Again, I apologize if we failed to do so.In conclusion, what you described in this review is not how we do business and if you wish to discuss this further I am happy to take your direct phone call and discuss what, if anything, can be done to make this better for you.Sincerely,***************** President ******* A1A Environmental
