    In August of 2023 we contacted Iowa Home Consulting to patch and resurface our front steps. Someone from their team came out early February of 2024 to start and complete the job. They had difficulty with laying the concrete and it didn't cure properly due to as the cold and heavy wind. They came back the next day or so and patched it up to the best of their abilities. However, it's become quite a bit of an eyesore and will need to be repaired/reworked. We received an invoice but did not pay. We had ******* (owner of the business) out to take a look at the result shortly after (February) and he seemed to agree that it wasn't an acceptable repair and mentioned that he'd try to make it up to us. I have tried calling several times and haven't received a call back about scheduling a repair. Last month on June 11th, I sent a detailed email with pics but haven't received a response. We would like someone from the Iowa Home Consulting team to come out and discuss our options for repair. Thanks. -****/*************************** *******************************************

    We had our screens replaced last year in our rap around porch. The screens did not hold. Within the first month we were calling back because they had come loose. They were cut to short and the material was very cheap. We asked for metal like we had before and was told this was better. We called multiple times and got no help until we contacted the BBB. Now not even a year later lots of the screens are out and shredded from the wind. We hadnt even had them a year. We called back in May and was told they wouldnt be out until the 17th of June. The owner came out and told us it definetly isnt right and he would make sure he got them replaced for us and set up a game plan to do so. He needed to do some checking on materials. We have not heard back from him. I have called at least once a week and am usually told they will have the owner get back to me. He never does. The one and only time I spoke to him I was told he would be out in October. I told him that was unacceptable. We have had this issue pretty much since it was done. We shouldnt have to pay as much as we did and not even have it last a year. The owner has not gotten back to us since. We continue to try and reach him weekly.

    Please do note the original invoice was for repair of the existing screen which was damaged.  While the existing material was aluminum we replaced it with a high-strength fiberglass material which has certainly become the industry standard and what you will find any any new window/door screen on the market.  In fact, as was passed along at the time we simply do not install aluminum screening.  While personally on site I confirmed there were areas of screen that had come loose from the fasteners though of course I cannot be sure of the cause of this.  Regardless, it was my proposal to repair the screens by properly securing them.  I am not sure where of the reference to an October time frame originated as I can I certainly be available well before this time to complete this service but do want to ensure all parties are on the same page in terms of product and safety expectations.  There seemed to be some indication the loose screens could present a safety issue for small children and I want to further reiterate that the screen material (of any type) should never be a point of reliance for any safety purposes.  It is intended to prevent the infiltration of insects only and again, should not be used for any safety purposes.

    We want to ensure all clients are well taken care of and to do that we must have a great line of communication.  I of course apologize if we could have better followed up with you on setting a time to stop out.  Again, please look out for an email from us on scheduling a time to secure the screens.  Thanks!
