Hired them under one of their many fictitious names filed with SOS, Cedar Rapids Deck and Fence. Paid around 14K for a remodel of my deck, including adding stairs and a landing, extension of prior deck, and new railings. Many times he or his crew were supposed to show up, they did not, with one excuse after another. I asked several times about permitting (he showed me a screen shot with a permit number) and a final inspection (he sent me a screen shot of several pics making it look like it was complete) and a final inspection report (never got, because city never did it) I finally has city come and look and it failed badly. Now he does not answer text messages or calls. Have new estimate for over 6K to fix. Took over 2 months, shoddy craftsmanship, and failed inspection. Seeking legal representative now to go after $ for fixes. Several areas of deck were deemed dangerous from inspector. First starting digging when we had to move two posts and footers were only 6" deep and on top of a pavement slider under the ground. Made last payment after sob story about paying his folks and assuming inspection was legit. Please help if able. Have entire 2 months plus of text messaging saved if needed.

We had signed a contract on February 02, 2024 for the repair/replacement of our old deck with ********* Deck and Replacement. We made a payment of $2250.00 prior to the start of the project as part of the contract. We were promised by Mr. *************************** that the project will be completed is 3-4 days. However, the company sent non-experienced people to work on the project and they ended up making lots of mistakes despite proper instructions. The project took a very long time to complete. At the time of completion we pointed out multiple mistakes which needed to be fixed in a very short period of time. However, despite making full payment on February 27, 2024, *************************** has been making false promises for several weeks to complete the deck repair and the work still remains incomplete. We have tried to contact him multiple times by email, phone and text messages without any result so far. As a result we feel cheated and harassed despite making full payment ($2250.00 advance and $2480.50 at the completion) to Mr. **************************** I would greatly appreciate it if *************************** can complete the project to our full satisfaction within one week. We are enclosing a copy of the fully paid invoice for your kind perusal and favorable consideration. we will be more than happy to provide any further information if necessary.

I am filling this out for the work that was done for my special needs mother, *************************. She had a deck, patio, and steps put in. The work was not done correctly. This was in mid March and today we are still dealing with them. At this point, there is wood in the backyard waiting. They said they would demolish the deck and rebuild it, and fix the issues on the porch. No one will return calls and our numbers have been blocked. Very unprofessional. Will say they will be here on this day then never show, over and over again. They did not pull a permit like they said they did. Then when we brought that up, they filed for one but never paid for it. This is when the ghosting went into full swing. We just want a refund or the work to be done properly so we can move on. We have tried over and over to resolve this. I fully believe they took advantage of my mother and tried to do as little work as possible. (I should add I am not confident on the address. I looked it up but it is no where to be found. This was the best one possible.)
