            My last day in my apartment was September 1st. I haven't received any notifications in the mail about my rent deposit from Breckenridge Apartments, and I let the apartment manager know my forwarding address on the day that I left.I was reading that, under ********, a landlord has 30 days to notify the previous tenant about the status/return of their rent deposit via mail. If they don't, the tenant is *********** their deposit back in full. Today marks 41 days after my move out date, so I believe that I am *********** my full deposit back.

            I just wanted to let you know that I resolved my complaint with Breckenridge Apartments. I sent a demand letter following their lack of response to the BBB, and the person I spoke to didn't know about the BBB complaint. I'm not sure if they didn't get the notification at all or if the message just didn't get passed along.

             

            They are returning my rental deposit ASAP.

            My apartment is currently being exterminated for bed bugs. My issue is that the apartment is charging me for the extermination cost when I was told there were already bed bugs in other units (I dont know specifics of who all is affected.) and I wasnt negligent in the sense that I keep a tidy apartment, I hadnt bought any second hand items or traveled, and I let my apartment manager know about the issue right away. I dont think I should be responsible for the cost. Is that something you can help arbitrate?

            After further investigation, the owners do not want to charge this tenant for bedbugs.
