    I was out of town and scheduled an estimate to remove a PVC pipe to make room for other work in my basement. They did the work without giving an estimate and then sent a $500 bill, 3 months later. Yes, $500 for a PVC pipe that's accessible. And yes, it took 3 MONTHS to send an invoice.I was told it was my fault because I didn't specifically ask for an estimator (even though I did ask for an estimate).Avoid at all costs if you don't like writing blank checks.

    The plumber was awesome. The billing was not. I called Ewert Plumbing prior to the job and was told the cost to reseat a toilet would be around $250. However, I was billed $451. Get a written quote to avoid billing surprises.

    Second review since my first was never published! Water heater went out Thanking Day…I waited to call Ewert until the next day…thinking I would not have to pay holiday pay. There is nothing on the website that states the Friday after Thanksgiving is a holiday for them. Plumber came out..lite my pilot and said”I got it lite but can’t promise how long it would stay. He recommended a new heater because mine was a Maytag and the parts take forever to get. Approx. cost for a new one would be $1600. I Googled about pilot lights and why they go out. Called another plumber and they came out and cleaned pilot and explained exactly what they were going to do. They were at my house about an hour…charge was $115. Got Ewert bill: $416.34! Holiday pay labor was$312.50..material: 81.96 sales tax $21.88!! I was livid and called. I was told plumber put on a new flame sensor! I said he said nothing about putting on a part and he did not go on his truck for any parts. He was at my house approx. 20-25 min. The receptionist said the plumber said he had the part on his truck! Funny how he had a Whirlpool part since he said they take a long time to get. I asked why he didn’t tell me he put a new part on or even show me the part. The receptionist said she had to take his word for it. I said I wanted to see the old part. She said she would get back to me…she never did! Ewert had done other work for me before but I’ll not use them again. I’ll call the plumbing company that cleaned my water heater,took the time to explain every step to me and give me a very reasonable price!!

    Our plumber was asked about this job.  He assures us that he did tell her about the holiday hours when she called.  We apologize that he did not explain what he was doing at the time of service.  He did have a texted conversation with Alicia Popp and she was fine with his service.  We will take your suggestions and put them into practice immediately.

    The business was paid $181 for an adjusted bill. I was initially charged $398 for services that were listed as work time and materials. There was no total work hours listed, just a charge. There was no materials listed, just a charge. When I called to complain, they said they would have to talk to the worker and get back to me the following Monday. The following Wednesday, they responded with a voicemail stating the worker replaced the toilet gasket and the plunger assembly on the sink. They removed one hour of work time from the bill. I called back to state that the gasket was not replaced, the sink assembly was not replaced and asked if they wanted to look at photos of the work that was done. A secretary responded and adjusted the $126 in materials to $55. I paid the bill so I would not have to deal with the company anymore. I was given no apology, no explanation and no offers from anyone with the company to inspect the work that was done for confirmation of how it should be billed. The toilet leak returned two months after the service was received. I did not contact the company as they have no guarantee listed and did not provide a receipt of the service, just a billing invoice a week after the service was performed.

We strive to perform quality service for every customer and it is our sincerest regret that we were not able to do this for you. We provided the deduction in both materials and labor to your invoice based off of your testimony for the work that was completed and we would have absolutely come back to correct the toilet issue at no charge to you had we have known that the leak reoccurred.
