On [july 8th ],11:52 AM ****************** # given via email: ref:!00D300Wu5.!500PA0BIQNa:ref I called ACT, **** to request my ACT scores and the necessary paperwork to have them personally sent to me. The customer service representative informed me that they no longer provide scores directly to individuals. I invoked my rights under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which legally entitles me to access my educational records, including test scores.I then spoke with a manager (Who refused to give me her name or ID number? ) for about 30 minutes, during which I provided the exact law and section of FERPA that supports my request. Despite this, the manager insisted that ACT does not send scores directly to individuals, refusing to comply with federal law.This denial of my rights under FERPA is illegal and needs to be addressed. I registered mt daughter for the June act and decided to purchase the *** for that act a day later. There was a discount code for $9 off the *** that clearly said could be use while purchasing the *** alone. There was no place online to enter a discount code so I called ACT. They couldnt figure it out either and decided to removed my daughters paid June registration allowing me to reorder the June act with tir and discount code. This all happened a month ago. I was assured I would be refunded my original June fee since I paid the very next day for the June act with tir in order to use the discount code. Ive called ACT until Im blue in the face. They have made false promises that I would be refunded. Ive spoken with **** several times and no refund has been initiated in a month. They have filed an investigation with act. Its so crazy they took control of my daughters account deleting her paid June one to allow me to reorder it with discount code and tir but kept my money from the first test. My account account and order history state all of the facts. They are not to me trusted.ACT Inc. Response

I ordered $173.00 worth of ACT prep materials in 2022. I have yet to receive the material OR a refund! Initially, when I realized the items I ordered were NOT going to be delivered, **************** looked up the order and confirmed I was right. I asked for a refund. I was told it would take about six weeks to get the refund, which is fine (but that was at the end of May, at which time, my 17 year old turned 18. Before his birthday, **************** told me to call back if I didn't receive a refund in 4-6 weeks. (I whould have recognized the red flag!) When I called back once my son turned 18 (3rd inqiry), they totally blew me off, and said that since my son was 18 now, they couldn't discuss such matters with me. My response? " I ordered this a year ago when my son was 17 I aoso inquired on . Fix it! I want my refund, already darn it! I am very disappointed with ACT *** ****************, lack of compassion, AND the amount I paid with nothing to show for it. Please! I would like a refund for items undelivered. I can't imagine how much more prepared my child would be if we would have received these materialsba year ago and he'd been studying these materials manual for over l3+ months! Shame on ACT *** for putting my child at a disadvantage! If he is unprepared because of YOUR mistake, and doesn't do well in these, you WILL hear back from me!Review from Serap G

My daughter registered for April 15 ACT test. She practiced 10-12 hr a week to be get ready for the test and I paid thousand of dollars for tutor. Just 2 days before the test day we have received an email only says your test is rescheduled and no new date or reason nothing in the email 4 days later still no information. My daughter lost her motivation and eager to practice. I have just called and talked the supervisor Fiona( she did not gave me her last name) and she said normally we send the the new test day but I am sorry . Probably we will send you an email for in a couple of weeks if we reschedule the test. They are poorly run and dysfunctional organization. they should have a plan and date in their mind when they reschedule. They can not play people's time and money. We are a just a number and name for them. I want to reschedule date ASAP to plan and make my daughter motivated gain.Review from Kristin P

ACT is a poorly run and dysfunctional organization. Our son took the ACT twice and used his mobile ID - https://azdot.gov/motor-vehicles/driver-services/mobile-id at the first two tests; which is accepted by law enforcement and for air travel. His third ACT test was located in the same testing center but had a different check in person, which would not let him take the test. We offered to bring his passport however the woman refused this request as well. After being refused, we had no choice but to reschedule the exam which cost an additional change fee. We open a case requesting the fee be credited back to our card. The customer service agent denied our request. Teenagers have so many pressures and unnecessary stress it's really such a tragedy that ACT would be so inconsistent with their policies and provide the worst customer service I've experience in a long time.ACT Inc. The deadlines on the ACT registration page are blatantly misleading. We went to register for the Sept. 11th ACT test and the registration deadline CLEARLY states that the deadline to register was Aug. 19th. NOWHERE did it say that this was the deadline for LATE registration. We ended up having to pay an outrageous "late" fee even though we registered on Aug. 11th (well before the posted deadline). There was no indication on the website of a deadline that would NOT incur a late fee. I called and they "apologized for the inconvenience" but said there was nothing they could do. UGH. I guess we are just out the $36 as we need to have the scores back in time to apply for college this fall.ACT Inc. Response

I am appalled by ACT. Yesterday, they unilaterally cancelled my son's test date set for tomorrow. Today, they unilaterally rescheduled him for next week. My son can't do the test next week. We planned our whole summer around tomorrow's test date and we are out of town next week. He is also unable to do the tests in September and October because he is heavily involved in football (and is planning to play in college). ACT refused to place him at a different test site for tomorrow because it claimed there were no seats. When I explained what harm they were causing to my son's future, the customer service agent began mocking me and said, "Lady, I know you think your son is going to play for the ***** . . " This is a woman whose job is dependent on parents like me playing the game her company sells and signing up for their ridiculous test. When I called back and demanded to speak to a supervisor I was told no one would call me until next week.ACT Inc. Response
