Comes quickly, but demands 50-70% payment down, request payment before done. Quality of work not there 5k bid ( should have been adjusted as opening things up was no issue! 5k for 2k job, and job all needs redone, so now gonna be to pay someone to redo, do correctly, no proper install on outside boards, no barrier, silicon not put on gaps. Then filled a gap with foam not proper wood pieces. Will cause water damage. Used construction wood for decorative interior frame around inside window. Silicon all over and construction nails. Something also pushing wood away on frame. So heartbroken with work. Partner paid the remainder 1200 while I was gone cuz contractor Ed say they were done and not 1 out of the 4 items finished. Messages Ed every few weeks, only we’ll get there when we can. Or we will be there tomorrow and 2 months later nothing. No transparency. No info on license just excuse of fraud. No insurance info kept forgetting. No recites on material only basic recite from his quick books. ?? few days ago posted on fb and few people said they were GEMSTATE home repair, 2021, now different name. Wish they had pride in there work and it was quality. Please demand info with anyone. Get references, and insurance info, call city and ask. if they are vague and run. Don’t pay more then 25% tell done get 3 bids! Only after fb post- contractor reached out to say he didn’t abandon a job and ordered word but 2 months never said anything so I’m hesitant to have them now that I’ve had 10 ppl reach out with bad experience.
