I purchased a 2012 **** 500c from this dealer on 01/28/22. On 10/25/22 my clutch went out, and it had to be towed to Dennis Dillon (DD) **** for inspection. They found that the issue was a known issue as it was part of a recall, and the repair would be covered by ****. The original time for repair given was a week, and they refused to provide a loaner car. When asked why the recall wasnt taken care of before the sale (they can bill the work to ****!) they said that they were not legally required to complete recall maintenance before reselling a vehicle. After a week and numerous, a DD owned loaner was provided on 11/1/22 until the car was picked up on 11/28/22. They claim that this costs $30/day. I said it should be free, as they are making money off my loan, and my car is broken due to their negligence. They said they will try to make **** cover it. I picked up my car today and they discounted me to $15/day: $405 total. They said this was the best they could do. I told them I would be filing a complaint with the BBB, paid, and left. For 7 days I had to organize rides to work, money that I make to pay the loan that DD dips into to make money, fine, but if my car is in their garage, why am I paying that loan as well, if DD has my car? I should not be liable for rental car fees, especially ones as arbitrary as a dealership owned car. If I could sell people cars that I know will break down within a year, so that a customer has to then bring it back and pay me for a loaner, I think Id call that a racket.
