To Whom it May Concern,
In regards to Complaint #******** Robideaux Motors has this as a response to this complaint:
Robideaux Motors disagrees with the Better Business Bureau and would warn and put all of our customers with complaints, or anyone with complaints on alert status dealing with the Better Business Bureau arbitration process. Our experience clearly indicates the Idaho State ************************ or General Motors Co. have better legal and more effective arbitrators than the Better Business Bureau. Because of this we are forced to answer the Better Business Bureau and the individuals with a complaint that Robideaux Motors does not process complaints through the Better Business Bureau, but will respond to complaints processed through the *********************** Office or General Motors Corporation. Both of these entities regulate our business and our franchise to answer the consumer complaint and have attorneys or highly qualified individuals to handle any issues.
Robideaux Motors asks for its response to be put directly below complaint #********.
It is our expectation that the Better Business Bureau keep to what they agreed to do with Robideaux Motors to publish and display in full the arbitration process on the Business Profile page and to not display a rating until the arbitration process has been met to the full extent agreed to by both Robideaux Motors and Better Business Bureau. To be clear, The Better Business Bureau had better not change the rating of Robideaux Motors (up or down) until the response is received from either the ************************ or General Motors which Robideaux Motors will provide to the Better Business Bureau.Customer response

I bought my vehicle from Robideaux Motors on 10/11/2021. At this time they were offering their Lifetime warranty for vehicles, however I was told it was not going cover my vehicle because it was a "2018". (This comes back into play I promise.) So I bought an extended warranty. On 8/8/2022 my exhaust manifold and turbo charger needed to be replaced after it went out on the pass. It was returned to me on 8/29/2022. (20 Days)on 1/24/2023 I had them check my engine because I kept getting a transmission warning but they never found anything.on 3/22/2023 I had an intercooler leak, but said it was "normal wear and tear" However I also had to have my waterpump replaced at this time. I got it back on 5/30/2023 (2 months and 8 days)5/31/2023 My check engine light came back on (one day after it was returned) and my Diesel exhaust particulate sensor needed to be replaced. it was returned on 6/1/2023 on 6/5/2023 My check engine light came back on and my DEP converter had to be replaced - which I had to pay for because they would only call it a catalytic converter. My car is a diesel. It does not have a catalytic converter. But neither Robideaux or the warranty company would call it different and thus I had to pay for this repair. Likewise, I'm pretty sure this repair was due to the fact that my car was sitting on their lot for so long. Regardless of the reason though this should have been covered it was NOT a catalytic converter replacement because diesels DO NOT have catalytic converters. I got my car back on 8/15/2023 (2 months and 10 days)on 8/31/2023 as I am going 70 MPH on RUSH HOUR FREEWAY my car goes from ***** MPH in no time blowing out black smoke on the freeway and not going above 20MPH. Do you know this is an emissions feature? And the reason for this emissions feature is due to a build ** of OIL in my INNERCOOLER DUE TO A LEAK! You know, that issue back in March, that was "normal wear and tear" of my vehicle? Seems like it wasn't. I limped my car into Robideaux and they checked it in on 9/1/2023 to which they repaired that and many other things due to them needing to take out my battery so often. I am now driving my car after that replacement but still waiting on another part. That as of today is 2 weeks out. During this time I told Robideaux about my issues and they offered me a trade in value of $16,000 for my vehicle. I bought it for $36,970.76 including warranty. Now, during this time I test drove another 2018 vehicle, to which they offered the lifetime warranty. When I stated it was a 2018 and I didn't think they offered the lifetime warranty, I was told no. They always offered it to 2018 and newer. Which, then, why wasn't mine included? Could it be that Robideaux knew this vehicle was a ticking time bomb? My resolution is now that I want either Robideaux Motors or GMC to buy back my vehicle for what I owe as of today $18,393.31 and return the cost of the warranty $7,000, and reimburse me for having to pay for DEP Converter. In my opinion, I should not have had to pay for the converter. I think Robideaux knew what this car was when they sold it to me, and even if they didn't after the 2nd time of bringing it in in less than a year they should have offered to buy it back seeing what it was. OR exchange a vehicle for what I bought. nothing less than a 2018 with ****** miles on it for equal or relative price as to what I paid for my vehicle.Business response

In January 2022, I placed a factory order for a GMC ****** and provided a $1000 deposit. I was told by the salesman (******) that I would not be obligated to purchase the truck when it arrived. The truck was built in July but due to microprocessors it could not be shipped. Fast forward to the end of September and there was no progress on the status of the truck. No one at GMC or at this dealership could provide any reasonable estimate on when the truck would be delivered. My order was for a 2022 model and yet GMC was already producing and delivering 2023 model vehicles to dealers (meanwhile my 2022 sits unfinished for 3 months and counting. I feel GMC has failed to deliver on their end of this transaction with no end in sight to the delay. As a result, I found a similar truck at a different dealer and made that purchase. I informed this dealer that I was canceling my order and was told my $1000 deposit would not be refunded. They plan to profit on their lack of service by keeping my money then immediately selling the truck to someone else (if it ever arrives). This is unethical and fraudulent. The fact that I was told there was no obligation to purchase the truck when it was delivered proves that they have no basis to keep my deposit.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:
The dealer is unethical and plans to keep a deposit even though his employee told me I would not be under any obligation to purchase the vehicle once and IF it ever arrives. Logic dictates that if Im not obligated to complete the purchase then the deposit would be returned. But it appears this dealer has no morals or ethics and feels stealing $1000 from me, on top of the profit h*** make upon selling the truck to someone else as soon as it arrives, so be it. Ill be filing a complaint with GM corporate and with the ***** ************************* And Ill be continuing to tell my story on all social media outlets so others will be aware of how shady this dealership is. I hope that $1000 was worth it.
Sincerely,
