February 2023 I was contacted to buyout my lease and was told documents would be sent to me to register car as well as complete explanation of charges. I was contacted by a ********************** with my monthly payments. No contact March, April, May. June 5th 2023 I contacted *************** Services who stated, they just recieved a payment but it was short. They contacted Barrington Auto Specialist, ****, who stated it would be wired that day. MFS never received it. I have contacted BAS and left message. No return call as of yet. I was also notified by MFS that that I have a $2000.00 plus balance as a still have an active account. My Credit score has decreased from 794 to 690. I am seeking resolution.

I purchased a vehicle through Barrington Auto Specialists on December 8, 2022. I secured a loan to buy this vehicle. We have not received any registration on this vehicle yet. Nor has the bank received the title. We have been calling repeatedly, only to be given the run around every single time. They have even tried to say that the *** on the title was wrong for the vehicle, and had to go through Chrysler to get a new title??? However when I checked on that, everything matched up, except for the paperwork they filled out, where they made an error writing the ***. We want this matter resolved. Every phone call there is a different story on why we have not received this. I feel we have been more than patient. They stated several weeks ago that the paperwork was now sitting at a title company for processing, and we were to have received the paperwork in two weeks. Two weeks has come and gone. Still no paperwork. We called the dealership this morning and were told that we could either speak to the gm when he is available or we could hire an attorney. I just want this matter resolved.

I recently purchased a **** Jeep Grand Cherokee from Barrington Auto Specialists. I was told that the vehicle was in good condition without major issues. The initial working with the company was great. They were responsive and supported my questions. After receiving the Jeep I noticed multiple issues immediately. The first issue was that they changed the battery that was shown in the pre-sale photos with a low quality battery that is not even the right size for the Jeep. You can see the advertised photo in the attachments, and the other photo attached of the battery I received. The Duralast Platinum battery that they removed is $260. The small battery they installed died on the second day that I had the Jeep. In addition, the rear drivers side axle was bent. This is an obvious mechanical issue that should have been disclosed. Repairing this cost over $500. See the attached video of the wheel wobble. I have provided these complaints to the sales rep that I was working with. He said they would come back to me with a possible partial refund, and now I have not heard anything from the company. I am asking for $750 to cover these issues. My total cost was more because of maintenance checks, dead battery jumping, etc.

Tell us why here...We apologize for any inconvenience the customer may have experienced. Before we put our cars for sale, they go through a full inspection with our mechanics. The vehicle was is in an outstanding condition when it was sold to the customer. And the issues that the customer has described did not exist on the vehicle. The issues might have occurred during the transportation which the customer ordered. Once the customer sets up the transportation, it is out our hands because a transporter has to be knowledgeable in hooking up the vehicles to their trailers. Otherwise problems may occur.

We have a great deal of customers from out-of-state, and we offer them a third party inspection so that there might not be any questions later on. We had offered ************** that third party inspection, but he declined it and took the car AS-IS.

This dealership (Barrington) illegally marked up the price of a vehicle lease buyout and charged additional fees which were not within the original lease contract of the vehicle. The vehicle was originally leased from a ************ dealership in NY state which has specified laws governing what a dealer may charge someone upon a lease buyout (essentially the terms are set in a contract). Barrington sent letters to my father's home alleging to offer buyout financing services and ultimately marked up the price of the vehicle and added erroneous fees. The customer in this case is 80 years old and was completely taken advantage of. These terms were in direct contradiction to what the original lease contract was and resulted in an additional $1,700 in charges. I (on my father's behalf) have contacted the dealership and spoken many times to the sales manager (*****************) who has acknowledged there was wrong doing but has done nothing about it. It is clear to me his intention is not to resolve this and assume we will go away. We plan to move forward with an attorney for the matter unless this can resolve it. Specifically, the vehicle price was marked up $1,085.94, a documentary fee of $303 and registration of $420 (car was already registered in ** under the lease so nothing to do). The dealership also sold an extended service contract which has not been honored by ******* in ** and cost $2,180. We are seeking a refund of all amounts totaling $3,988.

I attempted to buy the vehicle I was leading in march. I signed papers and sent payment. They were supposed to pay off my loan. The money apparently went but it was short the full amount from this company to **** *** then sent the money back. In the meantime, I have made 3 payments to a company they sold my loan to. Now *** is seeking to repossess my car. I have attempted multiple times (at least **** times) to resolve this and they tell me they will look into it. In the meantime, I am out $17k and may still have my car repossessed. My daughter has also attempted to get information and has been unable to figure this out. Its been 3 months now. I have concerns as to the effect on my credit. Still no one will assist me with this.

This has been resolved the vehicle has been paid in full. The customer security deposit was supposed to be deducted from the price but she declined that so we paid the difference.
