  We originally contracted with Simple Home Renovations in October 2020 to remodel our bathroom. My prior interactions with this company were good; they'd replaced and repainted drywall after basement water damage and done some minor work on our kitchen. However, after twelve months of excuses for delayed work, repeated reminders of finishes, complaints about substandard work, and a slapdash attempt to finish the project one year after starting, we cut ties. Part of the reason is that the radiator replacement from an old, bulky, cast iron floor version to a wall-mounted slim version was done without any consideration to move the old piping closer to the wall instead of connecting it from its original location and running pipes across the floor. A set of sliding shelves were also done shoddily, with up to a quarter inch of shims behid the slider due to mismeasurement.I ended up having to clean out all of the removed material, leftover supplies, and doing cleanup myself. Upon removal of these materials I noticed that there were four unopened boxes of wall tile, which amounted to about 40 square feet or 25% more than was required. We paid for these materials after they were ordered by *****************************, SHR's Principal. After contacting the tile store they informed me they only took returns up to 90 days after orders; it'd been a year later when I noticed this. I explained this to ***** and told him that this overage was due to a mistake in his estimating, and all I wanted was the cost of the unopened tile, or about $290. After offering me $150, I refused, insisting that all I want is what his mistake cost me in unnecessary materials.
