Date of transactions: May 12, 2023 ($300.00) May 17, 2023 ($300.00) Business was committed to provide legal services. However, I made the decision to request a refund for a second time via-email to the legal assistant on file October 17, 2023. My email was then forwarded to the business manager same day. On December 18, 2023, I also sent another email just to confirm that I was on the wait list for the refund but did not receive any response. Due to no response, I called the business at the end of December to confirm I was on the list, in which it was confirmed. I have been informed several times that the refund process can take up to 90 days, and that refunds are only processed once a month. However, based on the most recent date that I requested a refund (Oct 17, 23) it has been well over the 90-days. It is now February 21, 2024 and it seems as if I have been given the runaround in regard to my situation. The last employee that I spoke with was friendly and said she sent out an email to the owner for more information, but it has been almost two weeks since we had this conversation. I have tried to give grace, but I find it very unprofessional that I am always told to give them a call back regarding my situation when it really should be the other way around. All I ask of this business is for an honest and timely update regarding the status of my refund.

In July of 2023 I contacted Ostling requesting a refund on the deposit I put down in May of 2022. I was told at that time to allow 2-4 weeks for processing. In early December I had yet to receive the refund so I contacted them again. I was told the same thing again, wait 2-4 weeks for processing. In early January I had yet to receive the refund so I contacted them again. Yet again was told the same thing, wait 2-4 weeks. Each time I have only been able to speak with the receptionist even after several requests to speak to someone with authority. It does not matter what time of day I call, I always get the same response "nobody is available". I then ask for a call back and have never received one. I also have sent e-mails as well with the same requests. I can produce proof of phone calls made and of e-mails sent if needed.

I hired **** ****** to handle a foreclose I called for 1.5 weeks to cancel with no phone call back. I finally got him and canceled and he patched me to his office manager to refund me my payment in full. She stated they don’t give refunds until the end of the month so I had to wait until April (this was in March) Now I’m June I am told April refunds are not approved because person who signs refunds is on vacation so now will have to wait until end of June or into July.

    BBB Dispute Resolution Department:

In response to the complaint made on June 10, 2022, the client first requested a refund on April 12, 2022. I reached back to the client and left a detailed message on the refund procedure on April 19, 2022: stated that refunds are processed once a month and reviewed by the owner. The refund request will be processed in May since we had already started the April refunds. I also stated she would be charged for the opening and closing of the file per the contract she signed along with and advice given by Mr. ******. She should expect the itemized statement by certified mail showing all charges along with a check for the remaining funds the end of May. This was sent certified mail to the updated address the client provided and has been resolved.

    Sincerely,
