They scammed us. We worked with a designer and explicitly stated our budget and vision. They told us they would make a design within our expectations for an $800 fee. We paid the fee and set up a meeting to go over the design the following week. We showed up for the meeting and the doors were locked and no one was in the building. We were able to get ahold of the owner and said we would have to reschedule. He said there was a medical emergency, for which we empathize, but he never apologized for the inconvenience. The lack of empathy was very unprofessional.Once we got the estimate, it was double our budget. We expressed that the design was extremely over budget and asked if they could make a design within our budget. All they did was reduce the estimate by a bit, but still 70% over budget.At this point I was scammed out of $800. I expressed my concerns with the owner who confirmed that there was no way that they would get the work done within our budget. I requested to get my $800 back and have not heard back since.Review from Dmitriy M.

I made the mistake of hiring Urban Rooftops to build out a deck on my property in January of 2021. They requested a 50% downpayment which I wired them in February of 2021. Despite the fact that I specifically asked them to acquire a permit, they failed to do so before starting construction. My HOA requested to see a permit and it took Urban Rooftops four months just to come up with a first draft of plans. It has now been 18 months since I made the deposit, we have not been able to even begin the permitting process, much less construction, and Urban Rooftops is still holding on to my deposit despite numerous requests to refund it in part or in full. It turns out Urban Rooftops is not licensed as a General Contractor and does not have an Architect on staff, which makes it impossible for them to turn anything around in a reasonable amount of time. My project is dead in the water and Urban Rooftops has not been able to make any progress.While I'm sure they've been able to build decks before, they have completely failed with mine and are now ignoring my phone calls while continuing to hold my deposit hostage. Don't make the mistake I did - do not hire these con artists.Review from adrian s

We did window install work at the new showroom for Urban Rooftops.****-owner was super nice to me and all my crew...untill the payment.He still owns me $5000, not taking phone calls and laughing that he has better lawyers then I do so he will not pay me, because he spend extra money on interior design his showroom.
