On Wednesday, 9/13/23 I visited the business pulling into the drive way.. a man approached me telling me that I couldnt park there, I explained that I wasnt parking but dropping something off. As I was exiting the establishment the man approached me saying that he was the owner after we exchanged words he then brandished a gun and threatened me daring me to approach him. I was in fear, as I had no idea what he would do. This kind of behavior is appalling and unacceptable.

Thank you for bringing this situation to my attention. Unfortunately,I was out of the building during the time of this incident. This is my first time hearing of this through this complaint filed from the Better Business Bureau. The first point I would like to address is whomever you had this altercation with is not the owner of my establishment.  I, *******************************, am the sole owner of Doggone Rite.  Secondly, I am currently doing an investigation to find the employee responsible for this behavior. I want to ensure you that the employee in question will be held responsible and reprimanded. I have been in business for 30 plus years and I have a no tolerance policy for any violence of any sorts.  Also, please do not allow this incident to deter you us from providing any future dog services. I do apologize for any inconvenience. If you should have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me during my business hours 10am-6pm on Monday, Wednesday-Saturday at ************.

I recently took my dog here for the first time to be groomed. Less than 2 days later, I noticed he was scratching violently at his ears; so violently that it was starting to scab and bleed. I also noticed oozing from his ears. I found a few fleas on him as well and my dog DID NOT have fleas beforehand. I took him to the vet and they said he had an ear infection-they stating that the most common way a dog gets an ear infection is when a dog is wet or bathed and the water gets into the ear and is not dried throughly. The vet bill and medication were expensive. I called and spoke to someone (I asked to speak the the manager but didnt catch her name), who was extremely rude. She took no responsibility at all and said theres no way water got into the dogs ear. I tried explaining to her that is very much possible to get water in a dogs ear when bathing them and that just like with humans, when water enters the ear it needs to be drained properly-which is was not. She continued to talk over me and didnt acknowledge my concern at all, instead she demanded to speak to the vet who saw my dog because she doesnt like nobody telling her what she did and there werent there to see it. This establishment is unprofessional and is a danger to animals.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we searched our database, and we did not find a person by the name of ***************************. Doggonerite policy requires all pets to have a flea bath. We suggest that every client has a preventative flea and tick protector such as frontline, flea collar etc. Also, Doggonerite follows a strict bathing procedure in which we apply an ear drying solution which protects the dogs ears from ear infection.

I am rejecting this response because: My pets appointment was booked under the name *************************, my mother. My dog got an ear infection from his ears not being dried completely after the bath he was given at your facility. When fluids (in this case water) gets trapped in the ear, it causes the growth of bacteria and yeast, leading to ear infections. My dog started showing symptoms of an ear infection less than 72 hours after leaving his appointment at your establishment. When I called, the woman I spoke to seemed very uneducated regarding ear infections in animals and even claimed it was impossible that he got one there.
I took my dog to the vet and he was diagnosed with an ear infection and treated. This appointment costed me $130 and I would like to be reimbursed. I have documents from the appointment along with the diagnosis and bill for treatment.
    Sincerely,

    ***************************

    Complaint: 17731041

I am rejecting this response because:
As stated, I was able to remove the fleas that my dog got from your facility myself, but  the ear infection had to be treated. Once again, ear infections are caused my liquid being retained in the ear and not be properly dried. When I called I was simply told that it was impossibly that water got into his ear, which is clearly untrue. I paid $130 for my dog to be treated for an ear infection that he got  directly after being bathed at your facility. I have attached A receipt and a diagnosis document.

As a business that works with animals, you need to take responsibility for the mistake you made that caused harm to my dog and cause me to come out of pocket $130.00.
