My son is a current tenant at *********** in ***********, **. He is an 18 year old college student and we pay for his rent. He was offered a lease renewal. He signed the commitment to renew and later signed the lease. Afterwards the management company says that the lease will be an additional $50 a month to renew. This is unethical as he had already agreed to the terms. The manager said that Article Student Living has a rate tiered system. This system clearly puts a lot of pressure on these young people to make rushed decisions. Then they switch the terms of the lease - illegal!

Thank you for sharing your concerns. As we take all concerns seriously, we work to ensure we can best assist with adequate resolutions for each situation. As the rates at Renewal Tier 1 sold out overnight, all renewal offers signed after the allotted quantity of leases were met were equally cancelled. Communication was provided to each student to ensure they understood that the rate was not available, they did not have a legal binding lease with NINE31 for the future term and they could either choose to renew at the new rate or sign elsewhere if that rate did not fit their price range. The decision to renew is 100% the sole decision of the tenant/family.

I am rejecting this response because: This company is not going to do the right thing and it's sad how they take advantage of students. I believe that they are in violation of Fair Housing, but I down't want to keep wasting my time. They will continue to scam people.

    Sincerely,

My daughter just moved into The View on High in ********, **** last week, and unfortunately, the experience has been very disappointing. The apartment has mold, which is a serious health concern. The apartment is not as described on the website. When we tried to reach out to the property manager, we were redirected to a voicemail for a completely different apartment complex. We also attempted to contact them through the resident portal, but have yet to receive any response.Given the high cost of rent, we expected much better quality and service. This has been an incredibly frustrating start to our time here, and we hope management addresses these issues promptly. We would not recommend this property based on our experience so far.

I am rejecting this response because: That is the property management we have listed in our lease

The signature on the lease is ******** ********, Owner/Manager (see the last three pages of the signed lease).  That is the only informatiion we have regarding a management company or landlord.  We don't have any other way to contact the management company other than the resident portal, in which they do not respond.  The only phone number we have is for a "sisiter-property", and they do not return phone calls either. We mailed our documents  to:  The View on High , ******************* Team, ******** ********, Owner/Manager, *******************************************  The company that responded os *************, I do not know where that name came from.

Now our dryer is not working.  The bathroom sink is leaking so bad it floods the bathroom. which makes it inoperatible.  The tenants are piling the trash up in the hallway and the garbage stentch is so bad you can't breath.  We have not receieved a call back.  These violations have to be against the law and unsantiary.  We are paying a premium rent because we thought we would receive a better quality apartment.  Very disappointing.

    Good Morning,

The VIew on High is managed by Article Student Living, not *************. Please reach out to them directly to address the issue.
