My initial contact with *************************** was July ******* to assess my home Air Conditioning for not reaching cool temperature settings. Based upon his "inspection", he stated, the copper pipe connections were leaking due to bad soldering and the A-coil evaporator is probably leaking and should be replaced. I asked, if the leaks could be sealed instead? He stated, he could use a sealant for the leaks and recharge the refrigerant but kept insisting on an A-coil replacement (more expensive option). I finally agreed and put down $750 credit card deposit. Later, ******* stated "somebody possibly stole" the refrigerant from the ** unit because it was nearly empty. Already skeptical of his insistence of replacing the A-coil and now, the stolen refrigerant theory, I canceled the repair and asked for a refund of my deposit. Upon request of my refund, ******* stated because he already ordered the A-coil, it would delay me receiving my refund for a couple days.5 days later and after 2 more requests for my refund, he mentions a service fee. He stated, As a contractor by law your money will be refunded minus the service fee, expect a certified letter in the mail with your check in the mail. I asked about the law. He stated, Dont you worry about it all you need to know is you are getting you refund minus the service fee. Not one time, during our initial phone call, the three times he came to my home nor on the emailed receipt of my deposit, did ******* mention a service fee.I had another HV** company assess my ** and upon inspection, the refrigerant was NOT empty but under higher pressure than normal and they found no leaks. My ** is working. I didnt need a new A-coil because my ** unit has a N-coil which did NOT need replacing. I'm yet to receive my refund. ******* stated to a 3rd party, trying to mediate, that he has 30 days to return my refund.

Every service company let the customer know there is a service fee to come out and to diagnose an HV** unit

The customer canceled after we started the process to find the leak

When he canceled I told him that there is a service fee of $89.00

The customer feels he should not pay a service fee after we gave him a diagnosis of the failure the ** unit was low on freon.

His original price to fix the issue permanently was to replace the A coil at $2,500.00 he changed his mind so the service fee is warranted of $89.00

I am rejecting this response because:  The business owner never mentioned a service fee at any time during our initial phone call, the three times he came to my home, give any documents stating a service fee nor on the emailed receipt of my deposit.  The first time he requested a service fee was after I inquire about my $750 refund for the second time.

Also, the owner speculated, without proof, the refrigerant was nearly empty due to "possible theft" and he kept insisting I needed to replace equipment that is not designed to fit my AC unit.  That is why I canceled his service.

    Sincerely,

    Hello

    Complaint: 22109657

I am rejecting this response because:  I wrote reviews and posts regarding the owner's "services" and how he attempted to deceive and overcharge for equipment not needed for repair of my AC unit.

The owner stated to me, again, after I asked for my refund a second time,  "As a contractor by law your money will be refunded minus the service fee..." If I am lawfully obligated, the owner should be able to sight the law as proof.  He did not. I ask again, What law is this??

    Sincerely,

This customer called our company for his home not getting cold enough

I stated there is a server to come out to diagnose his AC issues

    Diagnosis low on freon

Customer was given options , the next day he declined the service, so the service fee will be subtracted and the nitrogen will be subtracted from his amount $89.00 service fee $189.00 for nitrogen

He will be refunded minus the fees

    Complaint: 22109657

I am rejecting this response because:
My complaint has not been resolved.

The owner continues to deceive. It has been 3 weeks since the job was canceled. Now, there is mention of a new and falsely added "fee" for nitrogen.

To date, the owner has not provided proof of the "contractor/service fee" law he claims he has to abide by.

These actions by the owner are not professional and fraudulent.  He is not working towards an amicable solution.
    Sincerely,
