I purchased a home at the end of July 2021. Part of my purchase agreement was that the home came with an 10 year extended warranty from Johnson Controls , Inc for our AC unit. The previous homeowner transferred over the warrenty to me on Aug. 21, 2021. She provided me a transfer notice and contract that I mailed with 50.00 to the comfort plan transfer **** ** **** ******** ** *****. The dealer who installed the unit is ******* ******* *** *** in Bainbridge, GA. They have made several repairs since I purchased our home and has never been an issue. On or about December 29 2022 our unit stopped heating the home. We did as we had done many times and called ******* ******* *** ***. They informed we had to get a part and it would be the next day to 48 hours before they could complete the repair. ***** the technician come to our home and tells us the unit is no longer under warrenty and we would have to pay 855.00 for the repair. I immediately showed them our paperwork from JCI. I was told that it was the holidays they were probably closed and that my money would be refunded as soon as JCI was back up after the holiday. After over 20 calls with JCI, often experiencing long wait times or told to call coopers heating and air no one can tell me why this warrenty is no longer valid. It is speculated by the repair company that Johnson controls never transferred the warrenty into my name. I have called, emailed the original paperwork and also gave to ******* ******* *** *** at their request so they could help with our refund. I would like my warrenty reinstated and would like to know how all these other repairs were made with no issue. I would like to know why no one from JCI has returned my calls from the warrenty department. I only get customer relations who now seems as frustrated as I am and I am sent to hold or leave a voicemail for the warrenty department.
