We're a retired couple. We contracted with this company to move our home to a new location 9 miles away. We paid over $6K for the move, including over $400 crating and special care of an expensive glass dining table. This was recommended by the sales rep. and thus did not purchase their insurance policy for an additional $700. The $3995 glass table irreparably damaged during loading. More damage to other items. We filed a damage claim as requested. Company response: You didn't buy our insurance, it's not our problem. We are going to pay you $76 for the damages. Buyers beware!

While we strive to handle all belongings with care, accidents can happen despite our best efforts. Regarding the matter of coverage, our team recommends additional insurance to provide comprehensive protection for high-value items. In this case, as additional coverage was not purchased, our ability to compensate for damages is limited to the basic liability coverage outlined in your agreement. The settlement offered reflects the terms of that coverage. We regret that this outcome did not meet your expectations. I am very sorry that you were dissatisfied with our service. We strongly recommend Valuation on all of our relocations. I talked to the salesperson and operations and they mentioned that you opted not to crate the table base and indicated that you would move it yourself. On the day of move the crew was told by you to move this base and that is the item that was broken, not the table top. This was our first time moving in nearly 25 years, and it was a move across the country. The Allied truck arrived at my home in Illinois on time with a crew of happy workers, ready to load out my house. We reviewed the contents before loading, and they began. They took great care wrapping odd items (mirrors, bicycles, Peleton, TVs), and had the entire house loaded onto the truck in a few hours. Joy did an excellent job inventorying every single item, and was very helpful in the entire process. They left for Arizona and greeted my wife a week later with all of our home contents in tact. They loaded into our new house, placed everything in rooms as directed and cleaned up after they finished. From start to finish, exceptional experience. Federal Companies did an excellent job of moving my mother from a small apartment in an independent living community in Illinois to a private home in Sacramento. They estimated the job, completed the move-out and move-in as promised. (About 2 weeks from move-out to move in!) The team stayed in touch with me, nothing was broken and they successfully packed some precious irreplaceable artwork. I packed the rest of the belongings. They dismantled the movable bed, an electric go-chair and a power recliner and a crew set them up on arrival. They made the horrible experience of moving bearable. Federal Companies part of Allied Van Lines did an excellent job on our move downsizing from a two story home to a town home ranch. The crew was polite and courteous and very accomdating. They were extra careful and they did not damage any thing on either homes nor damage any thing that they moved for us. Likewise there was no breakage on any housewares items including dishes, glasses, plates, pictures, art items. The crew was truly amazing. To top it off when they moved us it was the hottest day spring/summer thus far when our move occurred. FEDERAL COMPANIES-ALLIED VAN LINES were the most reasonable out of several B***** subsidiaries thar we interviewed. Thank you again for a great experience we can't ask for anything better for a married senior couple. It truly was a great experience.Federal Warehouse Company Response

Great communication throughout the entire moving process! All of the staff were very friendly and responsive. I can't highlight enough how important that is to us. We had ******** *** ***** move us from California to Illinois, and it was a horrible experience. The move with ******** *** ***** took much longer than they told us it would, and no one from the company would communicate with us. Allied/Federal Companies was the complete opposite for our recent move from Illinois to Massachusetts - they delivered our stuff on-time and stayed in communication with us throughout the entire process. The entire process from start to finish was just what i was looking for. After getting quotes from other companies, Federal was the most flexible and accommodating to our needs. When we first started the plan to move from chicago to denver there were a lot of unknowns. such as when we would need to be picked up, which items we were taking with us and when we were going to be able to move into our new house. Federal gave me all of the options of timing, possible storage before moving in and moving large unique heavy items. They also explained the different costs for each of these steps. Everything went flawless. they were on time, on budget and our items arrived undamaged. Thank you Federal for making a very stressful situation go as smooth as possible. I wish I could give ZERO stars. Their sales guy told me how I could save money on my move and when I followed his advice the company did not refund me what I should have saved. They give you a not-to-exceed price and their price did not exceed that but in order to save money I moved the pictures myself and did not move one of my TVs and instead of getting a refund they just do not respond. They say their "billing department" is working on it but they never contact me. My move finished at the end of August 2022 and now it is the end of February 2023 (six months later) and they will not even talk with me about getting a refund for the part of the move that they did not complete. I have contacted the General Manager Greg P****** multiple times and he has done absolutely nothing to remedy my situation. They also never answer the phones and you have to just leave a message hoping for a return call, which never happens. I spent over $8000 on my move from ** to ** and they will not follow up with me. Take your business elsewhere!!!! This company is totally untrustworthy!!!!Review from Holly N

I live at the end of a cul-de-sac, the street has a wide turn around for traffic. This evening I was sitting by my window that overlooks the driveway and noticed a Federal Moving truck pulling ALL THE WAY into my driveway then backing up in order to use my driveway as a turn around. I have a stamped concrete driveway and it is NOT designed by heavy trucks. It is disrespectful to be so lazy that you refuse to use the street and prefer to use a private driveway of a residence. They are not working for me and not making a delivery at my address or any of the surrounding addresses in this cul-de-sac. Their drivers should be told to stay off of private property and only use the street and not other peoples driveways. I do have all of this on my camera's. They didn't just barely pull up to the edge of my driveway - they pulled all the way into my driveway like they live here. I don't appreciate this and I am sure the owners of Federal Moving wouldn't like it if I hired a heavy truck to go to their house and pull in and out of their driveway.Review from Don W

We went with Federal Moving in hopes of avoiding some lesser-known unprofessional mover. The experience quickly turned into us filing a police report because somehow narcotics and a handgun disappeared while Federal employees were here. It ended with us getting our possessions moved... but witnesses said Federal's people were just throwing our boxes into our new place without care or concern. And it showed, as many items were broken. And their "insurance" proved useless since WE did the packing ourselves. Well, that would've been nice to know at the start. Our business with Federal Moving was an absolutely terrible experience.Federal Warehouse Company Response
