  On the weekend of May 13th 2023 a vehicle was towed by Illinois state place by the above listed tow service. The above listed service is contracted with area police to tow and/or recover vehicles. An attempt was made to pick up the vehicle Saturday and we were told they were not releasing the vehicle. According to their contracted service an after hours fee should have been made available for us to retrieve our vehicle. On Monday May 15th another attempt was made to retrieve our vehicle. The owner who answered the phone was belligerent. The owner asked what vehicle was being picked up. After giving vehicle description the owner responded with “oh yeah you’re fucked, I’ll continue to jack the price up on the vehicle before you can get it”. We are asking for a refund of services due to the hardships caused by this poorly ran business. I am not fully convinced that the $300 spent was a fair price after the comments the owner made towards me. I am appalled that a business owner can speak in such ways to clientele.

  Jones Tire and Auto is not a 24 hour towing business for the public. People have to call during business hours and make appointments. We do tow 24-7 for the Police. They are the only ones that have our personal cell phone numbers. The registered owner that was shown on our police report was ******* *******. He wasn't the driver in the arrest. I believe it was his brother. He let his brother borrow the car. He was picked up by the police. I'm not sure who called (****** ********* or ******* ******) on Saturday. After they were told they would have to wait until Monday they said that's ******* ********. They had the Illinois State dispatch call my daughters phone. They said they knew the owner and they had them on the other line. My daughter only talked to dispatch. She told them we are not a 24-7 towing company for the public. That we are only 24-7 towing for them. They would have to wait until Monday. Monday morning the mother of the car owner called to pay. I told her what he had said and she said they were mouthy. She talked to my daughter that helped her pay for the towing and storage over the phone. She told my daughter that she had told the owner not to let his brother use the car. We have had several people call saying that ****** ********* had posted on Facebook about our company. He left out a lot of information. We have seen the post and simple ignored it. We have to deal with this a lot. We do not intend on giving him a refund.
