I recently had a terrible experience with Geneva Cleaners, and I feel compelled to share it so others can avoid the same mistreatment. I took my jacket in for cleaning, only for it to come back with noticeable damage. Specifically, one buckle was missing, and the other was bent. When I brought this to their attention, they insisted that it was a "manufacturing defect" and refused to take responsibility for the damage. I knew that wasn't the case, so I went above and beyond, contacting both the retailer and the manufacturer to prove that I was trying to work with Geneva Cleaners to resolve the issue. Despite this, I never received a response from either the retailer or manufacturer, leaving me to rely on Geneva Cleaners to step up. However, after my initial call with **** (the owner) instead of taking responsibility he refused to talk to me. It became clear that **** was more interested in letting the issue go unresolved than in maintaining a relationship with a loyal customer who had trusted their service for over 25 years. If you're looking for a cleaner that stands behind their work and values customer satisfaction, I highly recommend finding a different business. Geneva Cleaners has shown that they have no interest in providing that kind of service. Very disappointed!

Thanks for the feedback and letting others see how your experience was with our service. Since some people may be interested in your experience, there would be a couple of things that should be noted for context. The jacket you referenced had part of its clasp missing while the other part was still in place. Once noticed, we suggested to have the item reviewed by the ***************************************** located in *************** and engage them to identify why the defect was occurring. The Laboratory determined that the rivets that the manufacturer had used in the garments construction were faulty. The report that you received from the lab stated, The serviceability of a design of this type will often be determined by how well it is secured to the base fabric and the quality of the rivet. However, all rivets will wear with age and lose their strength, so abrasion alone during wear overtime can cause loss of trim. Furthermore, with the mechanical action of later dry cleaning, the trim can move around, and/or come off completely in many places. The care label rule clearly states that decorative trim must be resistant to all care procedures suggested on the care label. It is the responsibility of the manufacture, to select all component material for the decorative trims, so that they will withstand repeated dry cleaning for the expected lifecycle of the garment (3 to 4 years) without adverse effects. Their conclusion after their analysis was completed reads, the loss of the fastener is attributed to the failure of the methods used to be fully resistant to the excepted care process. Thus, if this garment is within the timeframe of its life expectancy, then the trim damage would be attributed to a mishap in manufacturing. At any rate, the dry cleaner cannot predict or prevent such a phenomenon, so the present adverse condition is beyond the control of the cleaner. Geneva Cleaners did further research to assist you with your items return to either the online retailer or the manufacturer by gathering online reviews by other customers who purchased the same defective jacket. The number of reviews that stated customers from all over the country were having the same issues with the front clasp and rivets completely falling off was amazing. Some of the reviews stated that customers were having the rivets fall off while wearing the jacket. Both the reviews and the Lab Analysis report made it clear that the manufacture was having an epidemic of failure with this particular jacket, and that is why we encouraged and assisted you in the return of your item to them.
