            We purchased our home in March of 2023. One of the concerns with the property was the potential for radon. The sellers provided us with a service plan from HomeBuyer's Preferred Radon Protection Plans (HBP) as a condition of the closing. They provided us with a test kit. After the test kit was ran (takes several months to collect the data) it was noted that the radon levels are elevated and need to be mitigated. HBP put us in contact with a contractor in ***********, ******* to do the mitigation. The contractor was quite pushy and demanding. if you didn't respond to a call of his within a few minutes he would call my spouse. He wanted to come and install the system as soon as possible and did not want to make any additional trips. He also said several times that routing the system through the entire of the house would be an excessive amount of work. We asked for a picture of the system. It appears like a 6" pipe that he was going to cut thru our basement foundation and route on the exterior of the house. It would have been on the street facing side, right next to our front door. We contacted HBP and their response was a certified letter for us to sign that relieved them of any liability or future mitigation services. We reached out to them via email this week 3/7/2024. They said that since we did not sign the letter our file was closed. At this point we are not sure what options we have. I'm sure HBP was paid a flat fee/rate and they have no interest in helping us or completing the job as their revenue is set. At this stage anything they do or pay for is all expense. We appreciate your help on this. We feel scammed at this time by HBP.
