Verbal agreement $10000 to remodel 1/2 bathroom with ********************* after a walkthrough. He was to provide written contract but never did. He stated he never works without a contract, yet he did. Upon repeated request for the contract he assured me he'd give me one. I accommodated delays due to personal matters and other jobs they had taken on. I even gave up a Saturday so that he could catch up.I paid 4 installments of $2500. I also spent almost $4000 on hardware which he was supposed to credit. We had talked about remodeling the master bath and other home repairs after completion of this job. During their absences, I complained to ********************* about the mess ******** son, ****, left in my home, poor quality of work done and the many imperfections to him via phone messages with supporting pictures. I also requested that the job be finished by end of Labor Day week after they didn't show up for 2 weeks. He and his son, **** made a feeble attempt to clean then left after handing me a list of "X-TRAS" totaling $7900. I asked him to itemize the list. He did not. His response to me when I questioned the list content was ... I don't do work for free! He was given $10000! They also destroyed my utility sink, clogged it & ruined the floor, burned the permanent carpet on my front door stoop, stained my driveway and used/ruined personal property.**** complained throughout the job that the room was not up to code. He also complained (didn't know how to read) the instructions for Kohler products (which he hates). He also stated while grouting the tile that he hates doing it. I realize now that he just didn't have the skills to do the remodel.I won't let him in my home again as advised by many because they feel he may do more damage or physically hurt me. I agree with them. The work is poor and I will need to have the room re-done. It currently cannot be used. Sink leaks and I don't trust the toilet installation. In addition, he left pipes exposed in a previously enclosed wall in my upstairs bathroom. He said he would take care of that but never did! This remodel was initiated because I found my husband's body in it. ********************* knew I was recently widowed. I feel strongly that he thought he could take advantage of my grief and thought I was in his words "taken care of".Today I learned that he is not registered with the ******************* of my hometown or his. He has not been registered with *******, ** since 2018.
