We went to the dealership to purchase a car. We negotiated and agreed to a written price. After test driving the vehicle and returning to the dealership to sign papers we were told another party was already purchasing the car. The dealership will do nothing to find us another of the same vehicle even though it is a current year model.

This company took advantage of my family. We have a special needs child and purchased a vehicle and within 2 months weve put in over $2,000 worth of work to repair issues that were preexisting. Our child is not safe riding in the car and when offered the information about how much damage the car had upon purchase the manager said our hands are tied. Completely unacceptable and this company should be ashamed of how they do business.

Unethical Business Practices: Lies and False Promises. We test drove a car similar to the trim we wanted and were told was arriving later that week. We received both an offer in writing on the new car we expected to buy (once it had arrived) as well as a written trade-in offer for our current vehicle, which included a price for our new vehicle that was higher than the other written offer we received. We asked why it was higher and they explained it was not the accurate price but rather reflecting a different vehicle that the computer defaulted to and not to worry about it. We asked several times about this and if the price we were given would change or any other fees they would add on later and were reassured this was the price and nothing would change nor be added later. When we returned the following day after the vehicle arrived, a manager showed up and blatantly told us that theyre charging us $4,000 above the previously stated price because we can. He was also extremely disrespectful to the sales rep stating (in front of him), he doesnt know what hes talking about and we know we can sell this car for $10,000 above MSRP, so were doing you a favor by only charging you $4,000 more. We showed him the written agreed price, and the trade-in offer with the previously mentioned higher price, which we were told to ignore, and he was clear that he didnt care and knows they can charge more so therefore they will. Before leaving, I let them know that I have purchased vehicles from that dealership in the past and would never do so again in the future because I do not support unethical businesses who lie and extort their customers. While at another dealership the next day, we ran into our neighbors who told ** they had the exact same experience Toyota of Lincolnwood for the exact same car the previous day as well. We found another vehicle at a much more reduced priced being sold by a more ethical and fair dealership at ****************************.

The price they quote you over the phone is only the msrp. When you get to the dealership, they tack on an additional $10k surcharge. It is company policy that only a sales manager can disclose the additional $10k surcharge over the phone. This type of business practice of bait and switch should have the dealership fined. I wouldnt trust doing business with them as they cant even disclose obvious purchase information that any buyer would want to know before heading over to the dealership.

I was told that I would get a car for ****** dollars from the sales manager at Lincolnwood Toyota. I was told upon arriving (having to travel 2 and a half hours to the dealership) that the car I was considering on buying was **** more dollars because the company did a clean and wax warranty on my vehicle. I didnt ask for that. They showed me this was on the website, but that is not what I asked for from them. They mislead me when naming the price of the car over the phone at ****** dollars when it was really ******. I took the sales managers word of what the price would be. When haggling out the price of the car at first they were going to give me **** dollars on my trade in for a good condition Toyota Prius with ******* miles on it. ***** Blue Book had the car at ***** dollars minimum (with a maximum price of just over ***** dollars for my old car). I didnt get a title from this dealership right away, as an Uber driver I needed to talk to finance about somehow getting my registration. It took me awhile to get that. Or even talk to someone about this issue. Needless to say this is a heavy complaint about the practices of this dealership. They were kind in attitude, but tried to rip me off. Thank you for your time and ear.

This dealer is dishonest. They emailed me a quote for a RAV. After I test drove the vehicle, the manager, *******, said the actual price was $20k over the quote they sent. They lied to me and wasted my time - not what I expect from Toyota and in fact, disgraceful.

Worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. Made appointment to test drive a specific car. Told car would be ready. When I arrived, car was inside building and I was told it might be made ready to test drive, but manage needed to give permission. Manager came and said he would only let me test drive if I agreed to pay more than MSRP. I understand there is much bargaining involved in buying a car, but this was out and out dishonesty. Avoid if possible.

Totally a bait and switch. Saw a Jeep online, made an appointment to see it, got there only to be told it had been sold earlier. Tried to sell us a car that was leaking transmission fluid. Next day, the same car that was sold was back on their website. STAY AWAY.

I have concerns about the sales practices at Toyota of Lincolnwood in Lincolnwood ********. On March 11, I bought a new 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid from Lincolnwood. After the test drive the sales representative showed me a breakdown of the cost to purchase the vehicle. In their advertisement Lincolnwood stated that it had a MSRP of $46,267 with an additional $2595 which,it turns out, was for the exterior and interior protection package. The first offer the sales rep. brought out was for a price of $58,000 for the vehicle alone. This is $11,733 over MSRP!!!! I was stunned. Shock and awe? Perhaps this was intended to be one of their sales tactics? After several rounds we negotiated the cost down to $51,000. Still $ ***** over MSRP. Then I found out that the $2595 was a nonnegotiable charge on all vehicles. Under todays circumstances, vehicle selection is very limited. I consider Limcolnwoods sales practices to be predatory and taking advantage of the limited choice of vehicles on the market at this time. The tactics used to sell me this vehicle worked but I am not happy about it. I am a very dissatisfied customer and am disappointed that ********************** sanctions this kind of outdated sales practice which are supposed to be up front and honest in todays market. I dont know what to do about this now but I thought it would be helpful to others to alert you about my experience.

They are a disgrace to the Toyota name. They have a lot of vehicles on the lot because they will tell you one price over the phone and online then when you go in They will tell you it is a minimum of $14,000 over the ***** Bait and switch. Surely this is not legal?
