I'm not usually this person but beware of Bernhausen mechanic shop in Manito. There's a whole long story to it but long story short they've stolen not only my CARSEAT from inside my vehicle but also a portable battery operated ***** air pump. And that's just at first glance. Who knows what else they've taken. They also somehow wracked up a bill of $950 and can't provide me with any paper work as to why or how.... And the vehicle still isn't running or drivable... I have been fighting with them since December/January.

My vehicle was in the shop because it wouldn't start. And it still doesn't start or run. It's still not driveable

Where to begin.. this customer has not been "fighting with us" since December/January. She has NEVER reached out to us, it's always been her boyfriend because according to him, he's the "pleasant" one. ****** did work on the van himself prior to bringing it to us by replacing the starter which did not fix his problem. We did multiple electrical diagnosing throughout the day they brought it in, and we could not track down the issue. We called ****** after having 3-4 hours into it and told him we still didn't have an answer and weren't sure how much longer it was going to take. He told us to keep going on it. After having 9 hours in it and a few trial and errors, which we did NOT charge them the parts for, ****** told us to stop and he would come in to pay the bill and get the vehicle off our property. We had no problem with that.

Months go by and the van is still here.. we were never reached out to by ********* or ******. We have collected $0 from them, so why should we continue to invest our time and money into a van we won't get paid for? We are the ones that had to reach out asking for an update. Regarding them accusing us of stealing a carseat or a cheap portable air pump, that's ridiculous. None of us have kids in car seats and we have all the tools that we need here. We supplied ****** with an invoice showing the testing that was done, but no response. So they DO have an invoice with an in depth diagnosis of what we did. Her accusation on here and ******** are LIES. She told a friend of mine that she has talked to me MANY times... LIE. I have not, even to this day, talked to her once even after trying to reach out after her initial complaint. My number is plastered all over my business and it is not hard to get ahold of me. The effort on her end is not there, just taking the "easy" way out by typing up lies on ******** and BBB.

I am rejecting this response because:
We never received an invoice until after I made a formal complaint. I work 60+ hrs a week trying to keep a roof over our heads so yes my bf has been the one to deal with them every single time. I do not have availability to sit on the phone and waste time. We were never given any sort of quote on pricing as well before any "work" was done to it. They supposedly ran a bunch of tests and the car still doesn't run but they're trying to charge most $1000 I don't have.

When it comes to electrical work, we are unable to give a quote because we don't know what's wrong with it. Especially when the customer has already tried fixing it on their own and we don't know what was messed up on their end. When we spoke with ****** after having 3-4 hours into it, we informed him we were $300-$400 into the diagnosis already but he advised us to continue. I doubt that you like to work for free.. we certainly don't. So yes, he had a good idea of what the cost was getting to be.

Glad you finally admit that you have never talked to us after informing everyone that you have talked to me personally "many times."

I'll take a huge loss, you pay us $300 for what we've done and you can have this van back and we will GLADLY separate our ways.
