Do not trust your first impression! After receiving several estimates for our painting job, I decided to award the project to Titan Painting and Maintenance. ****, the owner, assessed the requested job and provided detailed estimate. He attached several informative pages to the contract. He gave me an impression of honest professional. His price was not the lowest, but his detailed contract and information was the deciding factor His crew came on time and the job progressed as scheduled. Until the crew was not able to match the existing color and had to provide new can of paint to meet the specified shade. **** never showed at the jobsite, he has his employees communicate with me Three of his employees assured me that there is no change to the originally estimated price. To my surprise I received revised invoice that included additional charge for the gallon of replaced paint. I refused to pay that extra charge for something which is not my fault. There is another issue which is even more disturbing. It has not been even six month since Titan Painting finished the painting of our garage. We noticed a crack on ceiling. I contacted **** to schedule a warranty repair of the area.He refused, stating the there is no warranty (despite the material provided that stated Titan Painting offers a warranty on all workmanship, including a three-year warranty on exterior repaints). The crew worked hard and completed the job in one long day. This may contribute to the pealing of the ceiling. This ceiling area was fixed and painted in a hurry as the last activity at the end of the day, when majority of the material was already stored away!Interestingly, there is BBB page that shows Titan Painting and Maintenance in ******* (no BBB accredited) with **** listed as a co-owner, which list some customer complaints. He denies any affiliation with the ******* business. The link is tied to the ********** website!Business response

The easiest thing for me to do here would be to succumb to the customer's demands. Below is my response and reason why I didn't.
1) When we arrived to do work on 9-14-23 the customer did not have color selections for the living room (per arrangement), so the crew and ******* made several trips and spent a lot of extra time going back and forth to the paint store trying to get color for customer at no extra labor charge but there was an extra gallon of paint required, because the customer changed his mind trying to get the color right . Neither the *******, crew leader, nor I told the customer there wouldn't be an extra charge. We added $85.00 for the color change to the invoice (which was never paid). **** also did several other small things for the customer while they were there because he kept persistently making additional requests for work not in the contract. They did the work at no additional cost because they are nice guys.
2) We repaired the garage ceiling, and painted the walls and ceiling on the same day. In the contract signed by the customer, it is clearly stated that "Drywall repairs are not warranted no exceptions". When the customer contacted me a few weeks ago, I apologized, but pointed out the contract language, and told him we would not be repairing his ceiling again for free ( I did not even mention the money he still owed me).
3) The customer continues to accuse me of having a business in *******, which is irrelevant but also not true. My son moved to ******* several years ago, and we allowed him use a page on my website for a few years, he now has his own website. I don't have any ownership, and never have - and I don't appreciate the customer calling me a liar.
This is the short version of the whole story, and I don't want to go back and forth with him any longer. I have been in business for over 23 years, never had a BBB complaint until now, and I feel the customer is trying to bully me into doing something for free.
If anyone is in breach of contract, it is the customer who still owes ********************************************* $85.00.

I am rejecting this response because:I am rejecting the Business Response, however I decided that I do not want to deal with business which declines any responsibility for its work and denies existence of a warranty.
I just want to correct several inaccurate statements in the Business Response.
1. The job was performed on 9/13/23, not 9/14 as stated!
2. The customer did not have to have color selections for the living room. Per arrangement, the crew was supposed to match the existing shade. They did not! The second version of the shade was totally unacceptable (bluish). There were total three trips necessary to the paint store, the original one, the revised,(unacceptable), and the final one. This does not support the statement going back and forth to the paint store
3. Statement Neither the *******, crew leader, nor I told the customer there wouldn't be an extra charge is absolutely not true! The tree different members of the crew assured me that there is no change to the originally estimated price. ****, the owner never communicated with me during the project. He never showed up at the job site. When I requested to talk to him, the crew contacted him and never gave me an opportunity to talk to him personally.
4. I have not persistently made additional requests for work not in the contract.
There was one item, I asked to fix, if possible. There were 8 nail holes filled at the end of the job, which took total 5 minutes. It was done in a hurry and I had to touch it up myself.
Other than that, no extra time was spent because of my request. Matter of fact, the team did not have to remove any furniture; it was done prior to our windows installation. I had to even ask for help me to replace 3 pieces of furniture (not all) at the end of the day.
5. I am not asking to repair drywall. I am not even sure that this is a drywall issue.
I believe that the paint job should last longer than 6 months! I am not asking to repair the crack for free, this should be done as part of a warranty that any reputable business offers!
I would like to emphasize that this ceiling area was fixed and painted in a hurry as the last activity at the end of the day, when majority of the material was already stored away!
6. I am not accusing **** of having a business in *******,nor have I called him a liar!
I just stated that there is BBB page that lists his name as ******* co-owner. The link is tied to the ********** website!
7. I am not trying to bully Titan Painting into doing something for free. Just expected to take responsibility for job, that require a repair, based on advertised warranty.
In conclusion, I will never recommend Titan Painting and Maintenance to anyone!
Sincerely,

Better Business Bureau:
While many of ***** statement are inaccurate, not based on facts,I also do not want to waste my time dealing with business which declines any responsibility for its work.
Therefore I decided to use the Accept Business Responseoption to end this unfruitful discussion.
Unfortunately, my original impression of a reputable business and honest ownership has been revised!
Sincerely,
