On September 16, 2024 I had an appointment at the Naperville Tennis Club on ****** where I signed up for a existing tennis clinic and joined their club. They charged $265.50 on my credit card. I participated in one 1-1/2 hour clinic and half of a second clinic the next week. Following the second clinic (Sept 30) I spoke with the owner of the club and her office people about difficulty I was having coping with in-door tennis. (I had not played in doors for over 45 years and it is an entirely different experience than paying outdoors in ********** where I just moved from.Eleven days later (Oct 11) I was admitted to the emergency **** of *********************** with swollen, red lower legs. A blood clot was suspected. My doctor, Dr. ****** ****, wrote a letter to the Naperville ************ asking them to cancel my membership and she advised me to end my USTA 3.5 tennis career. The tennis club received documents from the emergengy **** stating my condition. I personally delivered these documents and asked ******, the owner, to please respond. This paperwork in on paper, not computerized documents, and can be furnished. Her response was to refund $84.00 on my credit card. This leaves a balance of $181.50. I thanked them for their partial refund and asked that they refund more. Paying $181.50 for two and a half hours of on court tennis clinic was NOT appropriate by any tennnis club standard. An appropraie rate to charge would have been approx $20-$30.00 per session. I base this on my experience playing at a large number of clubs for many years.I am 85 years old and hate giving up tennis. I also hate being taken advantage of. Naperville players should beware of the lack of fairness this tennis club subscribes to. They have no business integrity.Respectively Submitted,***** R. ******* ************** Naperville, Il ***** **************************** ************ direct

    Business response

    11/26/2024

We have received the complaint.  We were aware of the customers concerns and have been actively attempting to rectify the situation.

Upon review of the customer's account and her specific unique circumstances, our management felt it was appropriate to make an adjustment/exception to our contractual policies and offer an additional refund.

We issued a partial additional refund to the customer on 11/12/2024.

Additionally, we are trying to contact the customer as it was noted that the refund posted on 11/12/24 could have been calculated in a way that would afford the customer an additional $10.50 refund. We want to be sure the customer understands and has received the refunds and is in agreement.

    Thank you
